Lost Hope in Cryptocurrency in 2025

Honestly, yours friend statements sound like someone who has not taken time to learn certain things about cryptocurrency like, the bitcoin circle through out all the periods he has spent on the community, as a trader or an Investor.

op’s friend might have been around that time where everything was cheap so every movement in the market was much more intensified whether it was going up or down however with bitcoin being really high now, there is only so much that bitcoin could still rise up to and that’s just part of bitcoin nothing much to do with the community itself

In a nutshell, from 2021 to this moment, I don't think there is any disappointment on the market, except those that has invested on meme pumps and dumps scheme and got losses. This is my opinion.

I only give true stories from around me in the cryptocurrency space. This pure true story was told by himself when talking to me via Phone.

I have a friend, he even knew cryptocurrency since 2013 but got involved massively in 2017 when there were many ICOs. He also said that forums like altcoinstalks and bitcointalk have been inactive since 2019 (unfortunately, I was not told which username his account was, maybe to protect his privacy) and since then he has only worked on airdrops.

Then a few days ago he called me and said something like this:

-I see that in 2025 I have given up, I no longer want to be involved in cryptocurrency for many reasons, including the price of cryptocurrency not being like 2013 to 2021.
-He also said that from 2022 until now the cryptocurrency market is saturated and cannot be relied on to take advantage of trading.
-He also said "Just look now, Bitcoin seems reluctant to go up again and many altcoins have dropped in price so sharply".

For those of you who have known cryptocurrency for a long time from 2021 onwards, is my friend's statement valid with what you are feeling right now?

Perhaps he was still living on the 2017 or early 2018 wherein there are a lot of money to be made here, like in airdrops? But after that it was a totally different market as there are a lot of scammers already.

I do agree that the market is saturated now, but it's like every bull run, there will be something new, as in the latest craze that you need to be early like the tap2earn from last year.

Although right now, it's already being used for pump and dump already. So maybe it's time to go look for the next hype.

Of course for Bitcoin, as we go along we will not see those huge profits as obviously, the price is getting higher, but if you invest early, you can still make good profits because it's compounding.

its what we do now. never give up our offline job because its the only lifeline we have when crypto falls apart. there is nothing to rely on in crypto then everything is crashing.  not going to lose hope for crypto but maybe we just need to wait for the market to reset its bullish sentiments. and while waiting just spend what is necessary,

don't start a  business today, you may also be struggling to make it work. even the barbershop where people have to maintain their good looks are now just not minding their hairs growing fast and thickening beside the ears. its a sign that people are not making extra.

Well yeah true. OP's friend might not be a full time trader since he is quitting and is never taking every chance the market is bringing every single day and I can say that if his friend fully rely on airdrops then I don't think he might like the current situation of the market and so the airdrops. OP, everyone has their approach towards cryptocurrency as it pleases them. Your friend's approach might not be the same as yours hence him giving up on it but you saw it quite differently from your friend so do not mind what he is saying. One thing I have learned over the years when it comes to business is not to depend on one source, you can have multiple sources of income and maybe invest in crypto with your spare funds and hold for a long term and see how it goes.

Why people complain about crypto is because they already conditioned their thoughts and minds that crypto is a get-rich-quick scheme which in the right sense is not true. Their orientation and perspective weren't properly enlightened so they just commit blunders in the industry and when they get trapped, they begin to cry scams and drag people into their drama or advise others wrongly about cryptocurrency.

I do agree that the market is saturated now, but it's like every bull run, there will be something new, as in the latest craze that you need to be early like the tap2earn from last year.

Oh yes, that's right, I still remember when I first got to know cryptocurrency when Tap2Earn was born from the HAMSTER project. Although the results were annoying because it took months to work, the rewards were only for buying Pop Corn and the size of the Pop Corn box was also small.

I also don't blame the HAMSTER project because that's where I started to get to know cryptocurrency. And now I notice that the story of my friend has indeed been much different about cryptocurrency since 2013 until now.

I understand the feeling from your friend, and if I'm in his shoes, I might feel the same disappointment as well.
You know what's the good thing with me? I learned from the price movement of Bitcoin for the past decade. I learned how to be emotionless and I learned how not feel like what most of the investors are feeling.

I feel the disappointment, and he isn't the only one that has that kind of feeling. Your friend's feeling is valid and understandable however, we don't have the same feelings right now. I see the recent drop as an opportunity to buy even more. If there's something that I'm disappointed in myself with, that's not selling when the market is at $100,000. When I watched videos hinting that it might go down in the next couple of weeks, I chose to hold all of my Bitcoin. That's my only regret as of this moment, but I believe that the bull run season isn't over yet.
