So far I read many good and bad things on Quantum Computing as it relates to Bitcoin and cryptocurrency. Some are predicting that with advanced quantum computing, Bitcoin will be rendered useless as private keys can then be cracked in no time at all and maybe at less cost. And if that can happen, that would be like robbing the whole bank and burning it too to the ground. Now, there are also many who are saying that maybe quantum computing is just overrated, overhyped and that eventually Bitcoin can be able to withstand any attack using this coming technology. Whatever can be...we can only find out and yes it would be good for Bitcoin developers to look into this thing and maybe come up with viable solutions for this coming big existential challenge.

To the best of my knowledge, quantum computing is at the very basic level not in the stages of cracking trillion combinations and yes it can be a risk in future and for that the developers has to work on something that should make the network resistant to quantum attacks.

They are saying that before Quantum computing can even crack its first BTC address, BTC developers will be able to prevent it from hacking every address it finds because the developer team will develop  a quantum resistance system protecting BTC. That sounds good right?

We are yet not in this era though but if time comes that quantum computer is already here, its time to find out. But then some other altcoins might not be safe as well.

Well, it's still years away as many says but if the crypto community wants to eliminate the threat posed by quantum computing, then it's up to the stake holders to come together and deal with this. The decision is mostly up to the developers and miners.
