If someone received one negative karma doesn't necessarily mean they have bad reputation, it's just they posted something in a way it shouldn't be.

Karma is a sign of quality posting behaviour doesn't necessarily mean good reputation.

Unless you have negative karma on a daily basis or it's steadily decreasing every few hours, there's no need to worry or look for someone who gave you +1/-1.


-1 karma every few weeks is fine as long as you keep making quality posts.

Many users here actually keep count of their karma manually and that means that if your Karma increases or decreases in such a case you will definitely notice it. In addition to that, many users here also make use of the altcoins talks notifier bot like PX-Z.  So there is a high chance they will also get Karma notifications.

The only thing they won't be able to tell manually is the persons who sent them either positive or negative Karma.

we really do not know what other people's standards when it comes to quality posting someone may just have given you a negative karma because they did not agree with what you said no one really knows since we can't see which posts earned you negative or positive karma

obviously many karma means good quality posting which would earn you positive reputation when people see your karma it might be an indication of how you act around the forum and what kind of things you contribute to the discussions

Karma has nothing to do with your reputation, the admin has clarify that many times ago that Karma is karma and was built for impression of someone find your posts helpful or not, it's doesn't have anything to do with your personality. Your reputation should come form your activity such as trading and some other things in the forum but mostly, it's the trade.

Any time you receive negative Karma, you will see a deduction of 1 karma from your profile and if you use a telegram app, link your Altcoinstalk with @altt_notifier_bot and you will get notified when someone gives you a negative or positive karma.

Well I actually don't agree with this and that is because Karma is actually a direct indication of your reputation on this forum. The reason you may be of that opinion is because it's  possible you've actually discovered that everyone with a nice reputation also has a very decent amount of karma hence it feels natural kind of.

One thing you need to understand is since reputation grows gradually then that means you will also earn karma along with your rank growth too.

Amug123, in addition to what other users have told you, you don't have to worry about Karma, as it's easier to gain it than to lose it, as long as you behave normally on the forum and follow the (simple) rules that I assume you already know. For now, Karma can be interpreted as each user wants, but it is not decisive for an account. Participating in the forum, learning and enjoying is the main key, this way you will gain Karma without realizing it. On the contrary, if you obsess over Karma or worry too much you will not be able to advance in the forum.

If you have very few + Karma and you continue receiving negative karma, very soon you will see that your karma score on your profile will show something like this '-2'. However, i know newbies in the forum worry about karma, but the truth is that they should not, you will be fine if you are not doing anything wrong.

On your profile, you will see the karma received, if that was your first kind, then you will see the indicator showing +1 under a positive karma and -1 under a negative karma, but if you already have some positive karma before, for instance 4, then you received  negative one, it will drop to 3, same thing applies if you received a positive one, it then turns to 5 karma in total which you're having.

You can use this @altt_notifier_bot bot on the telegram which can gives your both notification your positive karma receive notification as well the negative karma receive notification.

But in this forum there is no space where displayed it to see when you received the negative karma. On that bot you have to assume when you receive the negative karma you received the notification.

If OP wants to use the notification bot, expect some hiccups. I remember seeing a notification saying that I got -100 karma or so in the past because the server had some issues. It doesn't happen too often (maybe won't happen again in the future) but treat the tools as secondary information source so you don't get a heart attack if things go wrong.

Karma does not signify a user's reputation, and in the forum, you only get karma when your post is helpful, informative and educative to the readers.

I think you are misunderstanding and reputation with karma. Karma has nothing to do with the forum reputation and it doesn't have any value in Ranking but is only to indicate that you have been posting quality things. It is giving to you by members from Sr. Membership in the forum.  Now how do you know when a karma has left your profile. It is simple just check your profile and you will see the total number of karma left or add.
