You're not alone on this; I sometimes do this as visualization and hoping that you win so you can materialize what you hoped to do with your winnings; there is nothing to do with it, as long as you are not getting disappointed if the outcome is not in your favor.
As gamblers, we should be hopeful but, of course, realistic and accepting of the outcome.
The reason I do this sometimes is due to the fact that sometimes what we visualize can manifest. Except this, most of the times I imagine myself winning and things the money will be used for, I have this self fulfilment, inner joy and the hope of winning.
To me, this feeling is a good feeling because at that point, the gambler is only concerned about what he stands to gain and not the implication of losing the stake. However, this imagination needs to be guided so that the gambler can face reality and maintain gambling discipline.
