Forum pinned threads

Now there would be quite some suggestions here since I don't want to spam the board.

1. There are threads pinned on various threads that would be better merged for proper organization
Since the pinned Been too much kills the essence.
Example on forum related board
Chat F.A.Q. / Rules Could be merged with Forum Rules maybe with Forum rules as the name of Forum/Chat Rules
And Ranking up could be merged With Ranks & membergroups. This is just for forum related board. There are others in other board too.
2. Not really a big deal but the color of the pinned threads make it easy to neglect them Imo.
Because the forum predominant colour is orange. So there's nothing drawing your attention there. I'm not saying we should draw an odd colour like pink there but maybe something subtle like similar color with unpinned thread to it won't seem like there's a colour demarcation.
3. The sub boards in the beginners board
What defines basic questions in cryptocurrency that can't be discussed in the cryptocurrency board?
What's the difference between basic questions about the forum sub board and forum related board?
Most of the boards not including the aforementioned are overlapping.

This is my own POV so it's definitely biased and flawed but clarity and insights would be appreciated.

All of this has been discussed a lot.

It depends on asmin point of view. Basically everyone thinks boards should be merged, like those 2 which are the same. Every agrees, but the admin doesn't. He says more boards is better for SEO...

So, there isn't much we can do. I have even seen new boards being created...

The aim of the thread was on the pinned threads though
I just added those as an add on to maybe try my luck.
And these sub boards I mentioned can't help with SEO. Nobody is going to search basic forum question or basic cryptocurrency questions.

What you said is quite good and it is nice to reinforce it even though it has been discussed differently. And this thread is used as a reminder again for faster action if possible. Even some of the boards names as forum should be removed. Instead of Bitcoin Forum or Ethereum Forum it is better to use Board and not forum. Using Forum is a forum within a forum. Board or section is perfect name given to the sub names discussion sections. That is my additional suggestion to the Op.

In addition to the pinned threads, there are some things that need to be fixed, such as the rules page that appears repeatedly.



An attractive redesign would be nice as even though I've been here for more than year I've only read it all once or twice.

Well, everything suggested has been discussed alot of times here on this forum and even some on this board, but then, I would say that coming up with this suggestions again isn't out of place since it serves as a reminder to admin and other persons in charge of effecting a change.

Admin have already replied and promised to look into everything suggested here, but personally, I would still say that it's better to leave what works or is working alone, than trying to change things then create buds. #moderation . #moderation  that could end up having a huge negative effect on the their forum.

Tbh, I think we have more boards than what we actually need. Sometimes I can't help but wonder where should I go or where to find this specific topic. A few days ago, I was trying to find the post related to rank up and activity requirements. And the thing was, I was kinda lost at first. I have seen that post many times but I couldn't remember where exactly it was pinned to. It took me some time, and several tabs open until I found that desired post. So yes  merging some of the board will be a good idea.

This is what works better and faster for me. Not good, but is what we have available

When I first visited this forum, it was a hell of work trying to go through all the different boards most are similar but in the end, I was able to get used to it that way and it worked fine reading also all the suggestions made by many other forum users and what admin stance is towards that it makes it clear to us that we have to accept a few chances of making any changes.


But yeah he promised to look into this particular suggestion and hopefully, we see something good coming up from this.llp

Same here! I just check the "View the most recent posts on the forum" and visit my local section occasionally. Gets the job done.

Also I have noticed there are many boards/subboards with very little activity/posts or no posts at all or the last posts were years ago. I think these section needs to be worked with. The boards with interest should be the top priority, so that users doesn't get lost.

Yeah, but that shows how bad the current forum design is for users. There is certainly a lot of room for improvement, as it is much easier to navigate in much bigger SMF forums...

If it was not for tools such as my Notification Bot and PX-Z telegram bot, it would be impossible to navigate here

When I first visited this forum, it was a hell of work trying to go through all the different boards most are similar but in the end, I was able to get used to it that way and it worked fine reading also all the suggestions made by many other forum users and what admin stance is towards that it makes it clear to us that we have to accept a few chances of making any changes.

I'm even working on a thread for easy navigation of information.

Like what does the yellow tag mean in some users
And we can't open threads for such.
Luckily the admin is active so improvement could be worked on.

I believe this is the answer...

The yellow square is used for some groups which don't have any own badge (admin said that there are plans to revoke this yellow square in the future), and the number of these groups is not constant: some group can be added, some can be deleted. As this yellow square doesn't have any specific meaning, there's no need in mentioning all possible groups which can have it.
