As for this, voting should be done in the main thread. I made this translation because of the fact that many members including moderators have made complaints that the voting isn't going as predicted. So this thread is basically for better visibility.

This is a nice one @Mia Chloe I have come across this post before but was not sure of the particular board i saw it then but thanks for bringing it to our local board as I saw it here now, I can be able to trace the original board to also vote for my most preferred candidate. At least this is a good form of publicity as you have said because not many people would have the time to go round since there is not much engagement yet. I believe other translators would do the same for their local board members to be able to see for themselves what is going on here and cast their votes for their preferred candidates.

Yes there was actually from debate on the discussion thread about this particular forum voting and awards. The thing is some higher rank members has the feeling that people here who are eligible to vote just don't want to vote for awkward reasons if you ask me.

I wasn't much surprised that some members on our board here were not even aware of the community awards or ways to go about their voting. I ought to have dropped the translation earlier but I barely had spare time to do so then.

Yes there was actually from debate on the discussion thread about this particular forum voting and awards. The thing is some higher rank members has the feeling that people here who are eligible to vote just don't want to vote for awkward reasons if you ask me.

I guess the reasons why it seems that they are thinking members don't want to vote is because people are not too active as a result of the fact that there are no much work to keep members frequenting the platform, sometimes people would not bother checking some boards for information as it is that there are no much work for them so instead of moving about the platform, they just limit themselves to some certain boards just to view and go and doing so would not allow them access to some other boards with important updates such as this.

Well you do have a point though, but it's not just that. Most people may not see someone to vote in all the categories and as result may just feel retarded to vote. Currently there don't seem to be many options of users here to choose from for every single category and that could be a problem too.

Local board wouldn't be that much active as expected as there are no much engagements for the local board members to look into the board for some seconds to see for themselves what is really happening in their local board.
Talking about voting, there are lots of credible and reputable members who are qualified to get the spot for voting but I think it depends on the personal conviction to vote whom we feel it qualified for such awards.

Voting from local board I thinking would make the process to cumbersome for the team because it is out it the main announcement board were the voting is done and for orderliness and accountability, it would be okay to vote from the main board originally created for this purpose so there wouldn't be confusion and making it easier for whom ever is doing the collation.

This might be a challenge for one to know who to vote for that fit into those categories. However, it will be nice is voting is done on the OP just like that of BTT.

Well to start with if you actually read through the thread you will notice that the voting was actually launched with a couple of rules and for you to be eligible to vote , one of the rules is you need to have at least 50 karma. And from the looks of your profile even if you voted it still won't count.
