Neither, I just buy most of BTC.. and only a small part of altcoins... long term holding... don't really care about market corrections... buy more when it's bearish... and even small profits are not a big deal... we all have different risk profiles, and I tend to prefer low risk and relatively safe profiles...

For altcoins that tend to be high risk, there is SOLANA that I am interested in, and it is very interesting to get involved in its ecosystem too...I don't think I want to miss the solana hype for the next year, even the next five years... continuing to sell and buy it on a short timeframe I think will make it a little less stressful when the asset depreciates.

What a perfect and wonderful question, I have been trading on Gold and BTC more than some years and I only make a better analysis of them but some other pair like GPBUSD and other pairs I do trade on them but only when I see advantages over them maybe candle stick style of resistance and support is strong. Gold and btc have a strong and high  volatility that why I trade on them regularly.

The perfect coin someone can learn about it in trading will be bitcoin. Maybe others coins like ether that are following bitcoin pattern can be traded also but I prefer to trade bitcoin most of the time. Bit if I see ether fall significantly, I trade it at times. These are the coins that I trade most of the time but 80% of my trading is on bitcoin.

I think for the long term, I just hodl BTC. I trade other altcoins on futures. Though it takes time of research to know which coin to trade and which not to trade. The market is filled with a lot of shitty tokens, so I just continue being careful not to encounter much losses. I think the best altcoins trade I had this year was that of trump's. I spotted a lot of setups on trump before it finally dumped.

Any sensitive crypto trader should know that at the moment now, the only coin we could afford to be trading is Bitcoin, then after it, any others may follow, we can't compare bitcoin to any other cryptocurrency when it comes to getting the accurate results for our trading, profits, market analysis and any other speculation we may engage doing, when we are trading or investing on crypto at any time.

       -    The only altcoins I often do trading activity with are those that are on the top listings in the market or those with large market caps, I don't often try new coin listings on an exchange, because they are usually very highly volatile and also quite high risk.

At least with those in the top market you won't hesitate because they have high liquidity and for sure there are many traders who are also doing activities
on the coins you choose.

Nope. I'm trading Bitcoin and at the same time altcoins.
Altcoins are more volatile than Bitcoin therefore, more reward, but of course more risk as well, but that's why we are learning in trading so that we can mitigate those risks that we might be facing along the way.

Nowadays, I'm focusing more on the trading volume of a particular coin on a daily basis. A low trading volume for me means higher chance for it to be pumped and dumped, and I don't want to be involved on that one. For most of the time though, I'm trading top coins especially those at the top 10-20, but if I can't find any good entry, I'm thinking of trading lower market cap coins as well.

Some low marketcap coins can be good but low cap coins are becoming scam for some insider traders to make money from investors.

Most newly launched coins are like this in real life: https://cointelegraph.com/news/burwick-law-file-class-action-libra-memecoin-scandal. Even if court was unable to know the truth.

They are gambling.

Coins that I often trade besides BTC I trade BNB and Sol, new coins only if I get tokens from airdrops or bounties, I think trading top coins is more reliable than new token lists, new tokens have many risks if we are not right in choosing, buying and releasing to get profit

if you are not trading then why reply here? lol this is the trading board and op is asking about trading mainly to traders i would assume well anyway i have always wondered which coins should be your priority when trading i have only experience with one back then and it was eth

if i were to trade again seriously i would find for a quite volatile coin but not too high of a marketcap just yet so i can still buy with ease and reduce all kinds of risks

Yeah, your strategy is absolutely a long term investments plans, and it becomes unnecessary for long term investors to worry about the market ups or downs movements like some investors do.
I think one of the reasons why the market keep dumping is because many investors are emotionally inclined, they invest today, and when price start downtrends movements, they panic sell their Bitcoin for fear loos everything. Some investors constantly change their investments plans once they market prices going bearish.

          -      In fact, the only good trading activities besides bitcoin are those that are really on the top listings in the market, those that have high liquidity in their trading volume, then you also look at the number of traders to say that the buy and sell movements are fast.

Because bitcoin is actually a given, now the other top 5 altcoins are also good like Ethereum, Bnb, Xrp, Ada, and Solana, these are the ones that I think
are good trading pairs to use in my opinion.

I trade Bitcoin, which is a major on my trading list, while touching other altcoins in fraction. Though, when the market is on a down trend, just as we are currently facing, I sell first to take out profits, then hold till a considerable buying position for myself. The deep is for new entry, just as some big crypto enthusiasts are filling up bags, with the deep as the major point, so do I in buying some altcoins and wait.

I often hold some promising coins for a long time, while others that I trade are mostly meme coins and Bitcoin or ETH.

The approach you have adopted regarding your portfolio management through having long and short positions is relevant. Purchasing to resale in order to make good profits at the appropriate point, and then await the right occasions for repurchasing more stocks also turn to be very effective. This way, you will be in a position to capitalise in volatile movements in the market and ensure that you realise your goals especially during the low phase of the market or cycle. Some must be kept for a more extended period while others are use in the short term, thus it is good to keep some coins that can balance the portfolio.
