Moderator Must Be The D. Team Member.

I was counting that we have almost 30+ moderators on this forum Including local board moderators.

I don't know what is the criteria of the D. Team membership. But my suggestion is that Moderator must be the D. Team Member.

What do you think guys? It should be or not?

To become DTeam memeber

Becoming part of the Decentraized Team

• You must have correctly reported at least 5-10 spammers, plagiarists, multi-accounts or other misbehaving users within this section.
• Or you must have correctly reported at least 10-20 posts that were spam, contained ref links, in the wrong section, etc.
• You must have been active recently on the forum as well reporting users within the decentralized team section.
• Exceptions apply for inactive users with exceptional reporting history due to their considerable contributions.

However to become moderator the criteria is much bigger and contribution level since they holds more responsibility along with perks.

But it doesn't necessarily need to be in DT since moderator is someone who does it as job while DTeam is more of someone who is helping them by reporting them.

But wouldn't that be appropriable/logical if users from D. Team are given more priority? I'm not saying thins because I'm part of the D. Team but if you observe closely, you'll notice many of us are working, policing, reporting constantly to clean this forum from spammers. They have showed their merit as a good forum user. So I think they are more deserving and they already qualify. They have already been working alongside the mods. But of course there could be some exceptions! For example, someone has been part of this forum for a long time, or someone who has a certain reputation, someone reliable.

What is the practical purpose? Moderators have no less rights on the forum than the Decentralized team members, so they don't need additional rights of this group. Then why? Maybe I just don't get the idea.

I don't know what is the OP intention.
But I have also raised a point in General chat on main page. That a newly teleported member and a local moderator profile looks same. I am not talking about the main profile page. I am talking about the short profile which looks with post. So both profiles looking same. Means there should be any additional writing just below the name for moderator. Means like Staff, Local Moderator , or any other which look separate from a simple forum member.
Maybe OP is asking to an add additional tag below moderator name. Like you have can see your name and under your name there are many designations. I know you earned it by own but every local moderator should have one additional tag. Which show his/her profile unique.

I don't think this is necessary. Having more D. Team Members is good to ensure minimal spam, but increasing the number of admins may lead to conflicting permissions, so the requirements should be broader and stricter.

Moderators are responsible for trashing spam, moving topics to correct sections, and not much much else tbh. Full mods have access to also warn users. D team engage in reporting users who are breaking forum rules (spammers, shills, plagiarists, etc), so that mods can give appropriate warnings, strikes, membership groups, etc. There is an obvious overlap but not all mods are part of d team, and not all d team are mods, for the reason that there is simply an overlap in roles/duties but not a requirement to fulfill all criteria to be either.

That said, it's natural that should any d team members want to become mods, they'd be granted such responsibilities (for the right reasons) without much after thought.

Baring in mind that it's primarily based on activity in such section that a user wishes to moderate...

Let me show you two of pictures below. Can you tell me which is local mod and who is newly Teleported member? Means just see as a neutral man.





First one is newly Teleported member and second is a well reputed member and a local moderator too. But both are looking same. It is out the local board. I am not taking about the local board.

Just think you are a manager and you have bundle of applications and you want to choose one or two slots. And you know that this yellow box is showing a newly Teleported members. And the same yellow box a local moderator has. So you will separate yellow box members first because they are newly Teleported members. This is not separating the simple member and a local moderator.

It's also on admins to do list, behind a bunch of more important things.

Any decent BM who is thorough with reviewing applications will otherwise always check user profiles to for membergroups, so they are no doubt already aware it's irrelevant. It shouldn't otherwise concern other users, but clearly it does hence it's on the to do list.
