Donald Trump is a business man and he knows what he is doing but this might not favour him because the Tariff is affecting the ordinary masses more than the politicians and their government.

That is the problem. When a Businessman has the power to change the world economy, but that change helps his business, he will continue to do it. Mr. Trump is imposing more and more tariffs, which will eventually change many people's lives. More tariffs mean more inflation and more inflation will make your work more and earn more money so you can spend more money.

He is a madman and barely cares about any criticism. His own people criticized him. But I don't think he cares about anything. He is doing whatever he wants.

He thinks that he is untouchable, but as others have said, he just created chaos in a world that is already very fragile. So from Russia to China he imposed this big tariffs and now they are retaliating to the point that Trump is not going to win in this war in the long run. He is is self-centered, so the more we criticized him, the more he will do the opposite. And look at what he has done, the US is already in the recession and this might continue till he is the President of the United States.

Even if those countries continue to do business with the USA, the people of the USA should know that now they will have to pay more money to buy imported products. No country will export products without making a profit. More tariffs mean higher prices, and the people of your country will have to pay for them. Not who exports it.

Suppose Bangladesh were exporting a polo shirt for $2 each. Now, after the tariff, they will export the same quality for $3 each. The people of USA will have to pay more to buy the same shirt.

This is where you're mistaken, he doesn't want to keep importing stuff, he wants to kill the industry that creates those exports by making them expensive.

Maybe some people will be unemployed, but not on that large scale. If you have products that are cheaper than others, you will have customers. The customers will find you. But if you reach the customers, then it will be more helpful. The garment industry contributes a huge percentage (13-16%) of total GDP, and nearly 2% is from the US. Do you think this 2% will make people unemployed. Surely the export won't be stopped. Most companies will still export the products, but with more profits.

Anything beyond 100% is pure stupidity, and he just crossed that limit. He thought he could force other nations into trade negotiations with this ridiculous tariff, but it will surely backfire on him. China didn’t wanna play this game anymore, and as predicted, they retaliated immediately! Good luck to the Americans, their dear president made sure to make it's citizens suffer, and a lot of them! We mustn’t forget that the USA was built on cheap and free labor, and they might end up losing this benefit because of this trade war.

To make things easier, the world needs 1 billion shirts and the world produces 1 billion shirts. The moment Americans stop buying, the world produces 1 billion but only needs 900 millions, so the guys producing the extra 100 million will be unemployed.

Remember that in this situation, consumption drops, you can't find alternatives for your products unless you will put others out of business, so, for Trump doesn't matter who goes out of if it's Bangladesh or India or Vietnam, but some will do and in his vision is less money going out to that country.

Surely the export won't be stopped.

Trump forgetting that China has history dating back to thousands of years. And that time, there wasn't any USA. China can survive well on their own without America. Even if Trump restricts all imports and exports to China and adds 1000% tariff, China wouldn't care. Because we may be able to survive without Americans products, it may be difficult for any countries to survive without Chinese products. And they are well aware of that! Trump started the game but China wasn't interested in playing it anymore! Best move by China IMO...they won't bend the knee.

At this point, he is punishing Americans not the Chinese. All this noise is leading to a great fall of the USA and Trump will be the man responsible for it.

It would be really funny to see a new scandal in the United States every week. This is a really difficult time for history, whatever it is, Musk the Trumper wants to tear down the US government and rebuild it to his own ideas. It's sad that what a person wants is what they get and the harmful things. I also see it hurting a lot of people all over the world and could do more in the future.

Trump imposed the tariff, which doesn't really mean Americans will stop wearing shirts. That's a stupid example. They would probably buy two shirts instead of three because it would cost a little more. Meanwhile, the exporters will earn the same amount of money by selling two shirts as they were earning from selling three shirts. The import-export won't be completely stopped. The number will be dropped.

American President Donald J Trump taking some Rash decision i think. He globally creating tariff war and many countries also taking action against it. I think gradually it will happen a economic war. As a result America government even American people also will fall in crisis there has no doubt.

Two corrections, China did not exist as a country prior to  1949, and the term China is Western, it never existed before Europeans.
Second one, the last time China pissed the western powers 1980 happend. during the Century of Humiliations.

Why are you missing the simple math again and again?

Let's say they were exporting three shirts for $6.
Due to high tariffs, they will export two shirts and charge the same $6. Now they are exporting less, but making the same amount of money. They will sell the remaining shirts to another country and make extra revenue. No matter how you try to show your examples, that is not going to work. More tariff means more inflation. Basically, the people of the USA are going to face the consequences, not the country that are going to export products to the USA. Is it too hard to understand? If you are from the USA, wait and you will understand in a few months.

Wars are expensive! 

IMO, it's never about trade imbalance, or the tariff nonsense. Trump just wants to scare every country with tariffs, then get them to the table to negotiate and ultimately buy more American bonds to bail him out. Unfortunately, China isn't playing along this time...lol.

He was the one to start all this nonsense. He doesn't care about the people just his own benefit. What kind of president does the US have to face to now!!! A self centered one, i guess!
