 out of Coinbase and into the Trezor




then staked I have just under 3 coins staked

so 1.95 are earning and can be unlocked  in 3 days

and 1.02 are pending for 3 days and then can be unlocked in another 3.

I have a brand new T5 that has been sitting in the box for a while - maybe I could try this, although I don't think it's worth trying without at least 10 SOL. If I were to buy, say, 10 SOL and start staking them on T5, I still don't see much profit - unless I'm missing something in the whole story?

It really seems cool, as the APY is also good (%7) and with the minimal staking amount of 0.01 Sol. I liked the numbers and the security as well. But will I try it, Nah, I don't prefer staking, but if we buy Sol at the current price, and receive %7 for every 3rd day we can be making some good money but I guess it is not about money.

You just want to enjoy it right.

I looked at the calculator at the link that @rdluffy posted in his post and I was really interested in how many SOL you need to have at the moment to earn around $100 per month - and I came up with an amount of 100+ SOL or around $15 000 investment. It doesn't seem very profitable to me, considering that it is an altcoin that can lose its value at any time for any reason.

One perhaps stupid question since this is not my area - does the wallet have to be constantly online for staking to work or is it enough to just make a deposit, set everything up and just collect the "reward"?

The theory in a sane world (not ours) is the coins keeps up with inflation and the 7% interest is clean profit.

I have five coins on it and will be adding 5 more over the next five months.

Solana is not a coin to moonshot.


But all of the above is based on sanity and as we all know there are a lot of crazies out there.

On the other hand, if I had $1 million to risk, that 7% would be around $70 000, which is definitely a nice amount, especially if you don't have to do literally anything.

This is the reason why the rich are always at an advantage, they invest only excess money and invest a lot, so even this kind of interest brings them a small fortune.

One thing to take into consideration is the length of time you intend to hold the stake and the possible increase in value that Solana could have over that period of time
I'd say there's a good chance that Solana will continue to appreciate in value

The problem is that it could happen the same way as ETH, which is now at 1800 and many who may have left it in the stake are suffering a good devaluation regardless of what the stake yielded

But with eth the pre mine was 25 cents a coin and 30% of all,the coins.

So 2500 usd meant 10000 coins just hodl

When they got to 4k or 4500 sell some off.

Price dropped but the early people mad a fortune.

Then they staked the rest.

There is likely about 50 billion stake by og developers

That is a constant price leveler. Say 1200-3000 slot is locked in .

Solana does not have that anchor.

Means it could go well over 500 while it earns the 7%

Solana staking seems to be the trend these days concerning altcoins mostly. I've seen some ads and discussions too concerning staking on some pools too and to be honest the percentages are actually quite fancy too. But I've noticed some persons don't like to lock their coins for long.

It's like they don't actually trust the trend of solana that much so the stake for around 30 days so they can escape a huge dump if they eventually spot one coming.

Yes, some people doe not like long term staking because they might be short term holders, they stake their Sol token just to monitor the next bullish movements in near future to take profits.
However, there are long term holders/investors who don't mind the market trends or volitality. In facts, Long term investors can stake their tokens irrespective of the market conditions, whether bearish or bullish momentum.
