When you read the article, the news isn't too important - because as far as I understand, it's just a temporary stay, after which SB will be transferred to a minimal-security facility, preferably as close as possible to where his parents live.

What is much more interesting in my opinion is that the conclusion is drawn that despite the attempts to release him from prison, the new American administration is not quite ready to accept that idea. Some of the currently ruling politicians say that he committed one of the biggest financial frauds in the US, but if that was the case, he would probably have received much more than 25 years in prison.

That guy is a fraud and he knows how to do such odd things and how to make fool out of innocent people. Who knows what's going to happen next but I don't think that he's going to get the punishment that he deserves to get.

high profile criminals like him are often like this they are so used to having this much power that they think they can get away with anything they have many connections and many resources so they always stay arrogant no matter what

To be honest, am not surprised that he keeps enjoying some of these freedoms, and if it's not his political connections that is helping him roam around, then maybe it's the FTX money at work.

@Stompix, the only mistake SBF made was that he obviously "donated" to the wrong pockets when he was free - and maybe I would add that he wasn't too intelligent when he didn't manage to save something on the side from all that money and cryptocurrency - and when you have that kind of money, it's much easier to negotiate a fine - CZ showed how it's done and bought freedom for $4+ billion.

However, with such clowns in power, I wouldn't be surprised if SBF not only gets out of prison, but also becomes a financial security advisor - after all, that's what a man does, right?

I understand the man seem to think that everyone has good intention in this word that he paid everyone. I couldn't really say he would get out free especially if the government has intention to seized his assets. The government has no intention to buy BTC but only seize what they can. SBF crime looks unpardonable because he willfully embezzled users funds on some of the politicians especially during the 2020 US elections, I doubt if he can be granted pardon by the current regime.
No matter how the situation of his lobbing for pardon may sound, in my opinion, he will definitely complete is prison term so that others may learn from his fraudulent behavior. I think he actually agreed to the crime and deserve to serve his jail time to the end.

Donating to both political parties doesn't prevent problems, rather, it creates them, as it demonstrates that Sam's political beliefs don't matter, on the contrary, all he wants is to keep everyone happy so he can continue his activities. And that's a serious problem when one of those two political parties comes to power, since the lack of trust or security means you have fewer hands willing to help you when the time comes. Anyway, I think Sam still has an ace up his sleeve, and that ace is called Trump, now that he's a cryptocurrency "enthusiast".
