Thats right. Comparing them to stocks is way to make it easy. No one in my circle of friends actually earns cryptocurrency. I tried to make them understand in this manner as well since they ask what I do online. They may pretend to understand what I'm saying but when I ask if they are going to invest in Bitcoin, they still think its too expensive to buy.

Despite explaining that they can buy just about $100 worth of BTC, they ask how would that make them rich? The discussion can go on for hours and in the end, its hard for them to learn new skills.

For a non financial person, it might be very different, but for those who have somewhat a basic understanding of let's say what I stock is, then we can compare it to investing in stocks, and the bull/bear market, buy low, sell high philosophy.

But for those who doesn't have basic understand, it might be very difficult, but perhaps we can approach and tell them that crypto or at least Bitcoin is comparable to Gold, hence they are called "Digital Gold".

Then from then on, you can explain everything in the context of a gold, limited supply, price go up base on supply and demand, and then you can make money out of it by holding.

However, if there can be one asking the same then I would just tell him to search the internet for it but just be careful because there are many scammers and fraudsters using cryptocurrency as a mask to fool people around.
