I decided to create a simple monthly report at the end of each month so we can track, compare and evaluate the quality of the forum.

I hope to have everyone's contributions so we can have better reporting in the future. Thank you very much!

Thanks for the monthly stats update. With Bitcoin and crypto prices dropping, forum visits have also taken a hit, it’s a clear indication of how closely they’re correlated. Market sentiment seems to play a major role in engagement, as interest tends to surge during bull runs and decline when prices fall.

I'm quite surprised by this data: visits have dropped significantly, while user dwell time on the forum has doubled. This means that during the sideways market phase, investors are still coming to the forum to see what people are saying and what their views are; they aren't disappointed or frustrated enough to leave this market.

Other positive metrics include the increase in new members and the creation of many topics. This could be the momentum for the forum site to return to the top 1M in traffic as soon as the market returns to an uptrend in the second half of this year.

OP thank you for another monthly statistical update.
We are not doing that great with website ranking and visits, it is lowest since 2024, but on positive side number of new members continue to grow.
But something strange is happening with overall low bitcoin network activity, and I think this is quiet time before the storm.

I'm not entirely sure about the accuracy and reliability of the data from SimilarWeb, but it's the best I can access for free. According to this data, we've seen a decrease in traffic, which makes sense given the recent boring, trendless nature of the crypto market. I don't track onchain data so I don't have an opinion there, but I'm hoping the supply crisis is coming and we'll see the BTC price pushed back into the $100K zone.

When investors aren't paying attention to the crypto market, they can't take profits or look for investment opportunities in the market, and they won't be reading news or participating in discussions on AltcoinsTalks anymore. I myself have also noticed a lack of motivation for discussion; sometimes members aren't even clear on what's happening in the market, and no one knows what's coming next @@

I'm hoping that Q2 will bring more news and momentum to the crypto market, so that more new investors and members will come to AltcoinsTalks to learn, exchange ideas, discuss, and seek advice.

The fact is that a large percentage of new members are shills with their alt accounts who persistently open new topics to do their dirty work. I know this because we catch them in the act every day, and most of them are newly created accounts.

This is so good and users in the forum can come here and get the information. But creating new thread foe each month is what I don't understand when you can only update the first thread. If this is done by low rank it would have been tag as spamming. I was really expecting the update from the previous thread.

Though since you are a pioneer in the forum you know what you are doing. Nice work and statistics. Keep it up. But scattering the work in separate threads do not make sense.

To be fair, there is usually a lull (especially from visitors) during bearish periods, so am not surprised by the drop off. This often doesn't effect activity from members so much, and becomes more evident during uber bullish periods with the inverse (ie >100K views etc). That's just my interpretation over the years anyway, others may look at it differently.

Yeah, each tool has its own estimation method, and the free data we get is often delayed and not entirely accurate. I've tried consulting many sources, but currently SimilarWeb is the best and most comprehensive tool I can access for free.

Google Analytics is always mentioned as an accurate and reliable website statistics tool, but it seems only the admin has access to it for the AltcoinsTalks website. For the time being, we have to be satisfied with the data that SimilarWeb provides, and I think it's not too bad: traffic has decreased in the context of an extremely boring and gloomy market.

It's probably not very accurate, but it can give some general trends if we are looking long term periods.
Even with paid access I don't think we can have 100% accuracy for everything.

I don't think cloudflare is faking visit count of websites they host...

Even in science some trust must be involved.... You cannot make science without trusting that the people before you didn't fraud their experiments (otherwise you would have to redo everything). Although there are some scientists making frauds around, most of them aren't, most people aren't fraudisters.

I'm not sure if this is a statistical error from SimilarWeb, because we've been through a boring sideways period for the market in the ~$80K price zone. I personally haven't been visiting crypto websites much either, there's no reason for me to look for news when the BTC price is flat and ALTs prices are slowly declining.

Signature campaigns are driving the activity of forum members, but I don't think they can create a change in traffic in a few months. Meanwhile, the uptrend of the crypto market can have a strong and immediate impact. When investors are optimistic and FOMO, they will seek information and become more active in searching for profits, at which point the AltcoinsTalks forum will also easily have more traffic.
