We are now in the tariff war, no one is going to benefit from it, even small countries like Singapore, who is an ally of the US and has been a good trade partner for them for decades are now complaining about this tariff. So it just created mess around the world and for sure the US will have to lost a lot of their allies in the Southeast East Asian region. The part wherein it's very important for them strategically, like the Philippines and others. So it's a bad idea by Trump and I think it's going to bite big back later as this is not the solution to make US great again.
Yes, it's a very bad idea that has sparked a global economic war. Ken Rogoff, the former chief economist of the International Monetary Fund, described the new tariffs imposed by the US president, saying, "He just dropped a nuclear bomb on the global trading system."
But Trump sees it as a great idea, calling it "Liberation Day". He held a press conference called "Making America Rich Again". Trump expressed optimism that the new tariffs would lead to an American industrial "renaissance," which would, in the long run, encourage more companies to manufacture their products in the United States.
I think he's completely wrong, because these tariffs will not lead to an "American industrial renaissance." On the contrary, they could cripple American industry.
