but social media platforms are not the ones responsible for promoting cryptocurrencies they do not exist for crypto so we can't expect for them to promote crypto it should be us that should be promoting crypto projects social media platforms are merely tools for us to use
I share the same sentiment. I don't think social media or any platform has an obligation to promote crypto. They're just a tool in the end and the way people use it is what matters. Of course there are exceptions like actively lower scams or phishing, but they need to do that because it's on their own interest to make sure the platform lives long enough. So, what we lack is helpful influencers or community members who educate people. It doesn't help that most people like to search for the latest trend to make a profit instead of learning the details about crypto.

Social media has contributed, yes, to the growth of cryptocurrency but probably has not done enough because the discussions on social media are usually very distracting and are things that are usually not very serious concerning social life.

They're actually people who are talking about cryptocurrency, but it is only those who are interested in cryptocurrency on social media that are actually seeing these persons. Making discussions about cryptocurrency something general in these social media platforms can become boring to some individuals.
Obviously, you could express a best opinion in your comment. I am also agree with your comment, we know that social media is one of the best source for spread any special news. We also saw that social media also spread cryptocurrency news in the worldwide. In this reason many of the people could understand easily crypto news quickly. I think that it also be a best process for knowing crypto currency related issues in cryptocurrency world. So i think that social media is also bless for us, because it spread cryptocurrency news easily among the general people.

Of course, social media is a very good medium for crypto promotion. Social media is used by almost all internet users, so it is very easy to make anything visible to everyone. Crypto promotion is one of them. With the Boost option in mind, paid promotion options on social media, promoting any product or service has become much easier and potential. Gambling promotion is especially widespread on social media.

That’s very true, people are really getting to know about products or services that can be beneficial to us such as crypto and all that but we should be careful and makes our research very much to avoid being scam by fraudsters, because on social media, there are real and also those who impersonate to be what they are only to lure people in order to scam them, and if one is not careful, hopefully they will fall into their trap, that is why we should be very very careful about anything we see on social media either by advertising or any other way but we should also make our own research to be at the saver side.
But getting to know both altcoinstalk and bitcointalk helps to know more about crypto in a lane man language, which really help us to understand and know more about crypto, it also prevent people not to fall into the hands of fraudsters.

Social medis isn't the best place to learn crypto because the don't have the better knowledge up to crypto forum members. Like you said, social media is a place of scam and you might end up falling into the wrong hands and get scammed. This is another reason why you don't need to trust anyone that you see on social media. You can also be given wrong informations on cryptocurrency.

When you say social media has not done enough to promote cryptocurrency, the first question come to mind was who will do that. It is only the concern individuals. And who are the concern individuals. The investors and traders who needs more participants in their platforms. And the social media platforms creators can't do that if they are not crypto oriented. And company like Bybit, Bitget, Binance and other cryptocurrencies exchange should do the promotions on social media so people can use their services. And as it is now it is the scammers that make more promotions than other individuals in the social media.

Social media platforms have spread the word about cryptocurrency. But how blockchain works has not been mentioned. Because if you are interested in investing in the cryptocurrency market, then you need to see through which network you are interested in investing. So the discussion about social media platforms and networks should be mentioned. A platform leads the promotion and mainstream adoption of cryptocurrency and plays its own role.

Without a doubt, yes! Every time I visit social media sites like Facebook, most of the ads that I see is related to gambling, exchanges, trading platforms, basically anything involving crypto. I believe that while social media has done its part in promoting crypto, when it comes to crypto education, their progress is zero. The only place I found helpful content on the internet was YouTube or some random sites with guide...

Social media platform have missed opportunities to promote cryptocurrency in a more meaningful way, social media platform could have done more to educate users about the benefits and risk of cryptocurrency.  This could have been achieved through partnership with reputable organizations,  educational content, and influencer campaigns, social media platform could have fostered more inclusive and supportive communities around cryptocurrency. This could have been achieved through feature like community forum,  thank God for altcoinforum and bitcointalk, live streaming and events. By taking more strategic approach, social media platform can play a more meaningful in promoting cryptocurrency and driving mainstream adoption.

We were able to come this far even without social media playing an active role in publicising and educating people about cryptocurrency. Social media has its own disadvantages and I feel they wouldn’t have done more good than we have seen and achieved over the years without them actively involved in the progress cryptocurrency has come this far.

Community engagement is very important and for the likes of the Bitcoin enthusiasts that were there in the early days, they tried their best to share the best they can about cryptocurrency and here we are today not needing the help of an influencer to actually sell out what Bitcoin is actually, it has done it by itself and that something commendable for a technology almost everyone despise in its early days of invention.

Bitcoin and cryptocurrency now stand far tall that it doesn’t needs the adverts of the people to sell itself, it has achieved the success foreseen by its early creators and adopters, so it can confidently stand on its own and sell itself now.

The reason why I also think some of the social media progress in terms of crypto education is zero is because those handling the accounts are not that knowledgeable in crypto; there are some OGs who were once active on some social media constantly educating people about crypto but now most of the accounts you see that are crypto related are either shilling a fake token and most people getting into crypto newly tend not to get sound information from this so called crypto influencers.

You are right to have said that social media is a good marketing platform, and to be frank, many crypto projects have thrived on social media, and till this moment, projects have been making use of the social media platform to announce their launch and other activities they have at hand for the masses to participate in. So if anybody says social media has not been good for publicity, then ask the person how he got to know about projects and other information as it bothers crypto and updates and wait for their response.

You can open an account on any social media platform and start the promotion, there are a lot of people that are paid to promote coins and services on different social media platforms. I think it is better to get crypto information from crypto forums like this one, rather than on social media.

As I said previously, social medias are only suitable for promotions and marketing sector, there platforms are designed in that way. But as for education regarding crypto, it's filled with fake news, false informations, scammers spammers etc. For me Youtube and the forums has been the most helpful. Don't forget we now have AI likes chatgpt, deepseek, copilot.. ;)

Yes i also think social media is most powerful platform promote cryptocurrency and other products. Now a days every sector using social media to promote their products mainly cryptocurrency. So we can easily tell social media is most popular now a days to promote coins and others currency.
X,Facebook, YouTube, Instagram are mainly using for Promotion. But it has also some negative site like, many fake news also occurred from here. Because there has no any restrictions. But overall thinking we can tell social media is strong platform to promote coins and others currency.

In as much that social media is the best platform for promoting cryptocurrencies, how great would it have been if it was not taken over by crypto scammers and selfish influencers but instead taken over by influencers who truly have their community in mind and take it as their responsibility to teach their followers about crypto.
It would have been better but instead everyone wants to make as much money as they can at the expense of their community trust.
