the cryptocurrency that will be the most enjoyable is the one where you make more profit with less challenges altcoins can be tradeable but it is too volatile too unstable and like your friend said usually do not follow historical data compared to bitcoin where patterns and trends are a lot easier to spot though i am not saying it is extremely easy but it is also not totally random like how most altcoins would be

Well, I will not disagree with your friend because I assume that he's expert in trading already. As for me, what I'm doing is that, I'm looking at the price movement of Bitcoin first then I will pick on those top altcoins to trade because altcoins tend to move the same as Bitcoin does. Of course, this isn't the case because there are some altcoins who are moving on the opposite way as Bitcoin does, but most of the time, it follows. Since altcoins are more volatile, trading on them will be more rewarding compared to trading in Bitcoin, but the risk is higher as well.

As for BTC-focused competitions, there might be some, and there are some exchanges that are doing it already, but most are focusing on various altcoins.

Trading is risky generally but bitcoin trading will be preferred by patient traders while altcoins trading is very risky than bitcoin trading. A good trader will also prefer to trade bitcoin.

I do not like trading generally because the chance to lose is more than the chance to win for most traders. But bitcoin trading is better than altcoins trading that even without using leverage, your asset can be liquidated.

i actually do enjoy trading BTC because volatility occurs too much in the crypto space, and at least BTC still have chance to make things stable, so i prefer BTC

Maybe his reasons are valid as to why he prefers or chooses to trade in bitcoin much better than trading Altcoin, for one thing I myself do know for sure is that some Altcoin usually lack enough liquidity to enable easy buying and selling, there are some Altcoins you buy today, and you have to wait for several days to see if anyone will place a buy order close to atleast, the price range you bought it to possibly minimize your loss when you sell, this is why it's always good to only trade in top exchanges with high trading volumes like Binance and bybit and a few others, this is for serious traders though..

So let's assume that Bitcoin and every Altcoin are at the same level when it comes to liquidity and ease of buying and selling, I think trading Altcoin, good Altcoins may likely be more profitable than trading bitcoin, even though the risk of losing may slightly be higher, which i still see as normal because that's part of the rules of risk and reward - that is, the higher you risk, the higher your potential reward.

The volatility determines the profit and corresponding risks.

We all know that trading is all about risk that's the sole reason why the higher the risk, the higher the profit involved.
Most traders enjoy trading those token that moves like light speed on a low time frame because they can scalp out profits very fast undermining the risk of loosing.

Your friend is correct as he chose his path rightly but for me, though not professional yet, I prefer those ALTs especially memes because they are much more cheaper and the big capital you'll use to enter the market just to buy a fraction of Bitcoin would give you the power to purchase these memecoins in Millions and can make you have a little control of the market trend.

For a trader to focus solely on bitcoin then he his well experience and he has been in the game much longer. As for a beginner or newbie who is into trading and is not much experience and knowledgeable, then he will learn is strategy and analysis on less volatile currency pairs like EURUSD, USDJPY and other less volatile currency pairs.
 Bitcoin do respect order blocks and other analysis like resistance level and support levels and so much more and trading bitcoin is really good but at same time it can be very volatile that it will go against the strategy. My advise for new traders or newbie is to focus trading on less volatile currency pairs so they won’t face much loss and they will understand their analysis much more better.

Bitcoin is the mother coin of all coins. And the price of all other coins fluctuates with Bitcoin. But although Bitcoin is less volatile, altcoins are much more volatile. So trading coins other than Bitcoin is much more risky. So if someone has the intention of trading without holding, he should first start trading with Bitcoin and then gradually observe the market by trading Bitcoin and later he will be able to predict himself by analyzing when and how much the price of any coin can go down or up.

Agree. Bitcoin price repeats the same pattern. Bitcoin price dropped and increased again constantly. It is quite different with most altcoins that they only declined continuously. There is no way to get profits if the prices of altcoins keep declining all the time. So, it makes sense if people prefer to focus on Bitcoin only nowadays.

Yep, we are waiting for the altcoins season but it still has no clear sign until now. Some people claim that the altcoins season in this cycle has a different scenario. So, it is difficult to expect of big pump on most altcoins prices for now.

altcoin is indeed more volatile than bitcoin, this is what makes altcoin more profitable when we trade it.
and for newbies who are starting to learn to trade, it is better to use bitcoin, because the risk is lower. Likewise, if you choose to hold for the long term, bitcpoin is the main priority.
because the risk of investing in bitcoin is quite high, that's why we recommend choosing top coins.

But for the last few times, I think it's more enjoyable to trade Bitcoin than altcoins. But in this case, for me, it's Spot trade, not future (because I'm not a high risk trader).

Because when we install a pair and with a certain margin, for the short term, the BTC chart is more understandable than some altcoins, and at least, if the analysis deviates and does not match our target, we can hold the coin until the price matches the target price that we will take. Even you want to do trade the altcoins you must have to focus on the Bitcoin market also and as well do analysis because there the whole crypto market goes on the same path what the bitcoin do.
So in most cases, if you don't pay attention to the Bitcoin market in advance, you won't be able to have much fun or make much profit by trading altcoins.
And in my case, I don't like it because I'm not really good at short-term trading. I just enjoy holding bitcoin.
