What is the function of "Quick Reply"

A quick question please;



I have been seeing this in the forum, but today, I just clicked on it (it is my first time clicking on it, though I have come across it severally, but haven't clicked on it and I don't really know if it has been talked about before or if a thread has been made on it either).



From the above image, I am wondering what Quick Reply is used for and if it is different from the normal Reply button above the OP Topic and below, at the page number?

I don't know about the quick reply button, I've tried searching around for it but can't find it anywhere, maybe the button isn't available for every user or maybe there is a way to turn the button on and off in the settings page..

But then, speaking of what the button does, you have your answer in the screenshot you shared/posted on this thread, read the description header in the typing box to learn what the quick reply button does..

Okay, I think it is used instead of clicking on the "Reply", cause I just used it underneath the post here. The difference I site here is that it doesn't have the formatting tools and can't be used to insert pictures as well. I think now I know its actual purpose, as it is the "Quick Reply" I used in sending this message.

But when you click on preview, it takes you to the other part of making replies to post. It is a short cut I think.
