difference in forums

not sure exactly where to post this but i’ll just put it here!

i am pretty sure everyone involved in cryptocurrency knows about bitcointalk and a lot of us here have also visited the other forum i am curious if anyone’s ever noticed a significant difference and which ones you like better from the other forum vs altcoinstalk and vice versa?

could help us discuss how to improve and see where our strengths lie

Bitcointalk has better content, experienced users. Plus, Bitcointalk was created by Satoshi himself and that forum has rich history, there is no comparison between the two.

No doubt Bitcointalk has a rich history and legacy in cryptocurrency space. The forum attracts knowledgeable and experienced members, contributing to high quality discussions. It's main focus is on bitcoin which allows for in-dept discussion and analysis. While altcoin forum focuses on specific cryptocurrencies, providing targeted discussions and insights. While bitcoin has a unique history and reputation altcoin forum serves their respective community very well. The better forum depends on individual interests and needs.

Perhaps the differences stem from the fact that some of us prefer both forums to be similar, despite their significant differences.
Frankly, I use a limited number of forums, and many others may have stopped using them, but they are excellent sources of information, especially specialized forums.

while this forum was able to make a proper forum with very useful and efficient features that lead us to very informative and engaging discussions i think the reputation bitcointalk is pretty unmatched there are definitely things that is a lot more openly talked about in here than the other forum like mixers for example so this forum still attracts some members of the community regardless which one people generally thinks of as the better one

Mixers ban on bitcointalk turned out good for this forum. It brought mixers to promote themselves here and that of course brought users here as well.

In terms of UI/UX altcoinstalk will look a lot better because it runs on SMF 2017 version while bitcoin use old SMF.

The topics discussed here are less considering the age.

I like Bitcointalk's design personally. But, I do like animated signatures here, when same idea was pitched on bitcointalk, users said, it may look ugly but I kinda like them how they look here.

Karma is not any different than merits, community voting happens on bitcointalk too for contests and such, chatbox idea was disregarded.

If I am not wrong we had animated avatars in bitcointalk and it was scraped recently and people who wore animated avatars still can until they change it.

I was talking about the voting to list coin on the header, which was a recent implementation and yet to be utilized by the projects. Bitcointalk is too big already, so theymos didn't concentrate on aesthetics much.

Bitcointalk is a very popular forum because it was created by the creator of Bitcoin, Satoshi. And it is specifically made to discuss Bitcoin and that is why along with Bitcoin, that forum also became very popular. And this forum means Altcoinstalks is mainly created targeting altcoins. There is no difference between both crypto forums here but the two forums focus the most on two types of topics, one about Bitcoin and the other about Altcoins. And Bitcointalk has a merit system to rank up but Altcoinstalks has not implemented it yet because the number of users is very low. I don't see any difference other than these minor things.

I believe allegiance or membership of any platform depends on individual mindset and perspective. Both platforms are great as they educate members on blockchain, crypto, and life affairs. From my observations, the majority of the active members here are also very much active on the other platform, making it easier to navigate through, and the level of communication and engagement is quite alright. I would say that both platforms are built and developed in their various unique ways, making them look special in tandem with what they symbolize.

The forum members are the ones that will make the forum a better place for active discussion and tapping of knowledge. This forum became lively after mixer was banned in Bitcointalk and a lot of me members from the other forum came here to make this forum active. There are a lot of discussions in bitcointalk.org. However, this forum will be up to that of bitcointalk in future.

I think we already discussed differences between bitcointalk and altcoinstalks forum.
Main advantage this forum has for now is ability to freely advertise mixers and other privacy related services.
Admins here should be smart and use this chance because theymos announced possibility of reverting mixer ban in 2026.

Both have their good differences and that's why many of the mixers moved here. But as soon as theymos announces the return of the advertisement and allowing of the mixers again in btctalk. I think one difference is that altstalk has various sections where everyone can read contents about mostly alts, whilst for bitcoin, it's obvious that's for Bitcoin. And so, both are good in their own ways.

We can never deny that bitcointalk has a rich history and legacy in the cryptocurrency space. Moreover, the role of this btt forum in our early crypto life is very important. This forum has a lot of knowledgeable and experienced members whose crypto analysis is of high quality and you can take a lot of knowledge from their topics. Also altcoinstalks has its own reputation and there are a lot of experienced members here too. This altcoin forum focuses on specific cryptocurrencies, providing targeted discussions and insights. These two forums are separate and have separate topics, making it easy for anyone to use.
