The slowness still exists! Sometime the network won't even connect. I used to restart my device, uninstall and and install tor browser just to make it work...

After reading your post, I tested CoinTor on all browsers and even Tor and CoinTor.org version on Tor, and everything is fine and fast. Have you experienced the same with all the other mixers? You mentioned sometime how often is sometimes.
I hope you can fix the issue so you can try CoinTor.org service.

I think he already fixed the issue as he said the reason for the error message was because his VPN was on and probably the location connected was denied access to the site or isn't part of the list of countries that are allowed to access the site.
The only time I usually have issue with anything website related to crypto is when I try accessing exchange website with my normal internet connection because over here in my country I think some of the site are not allowed but can't say the same for mixers though as I have no issues with visiting the coinTor website.

It's good to know that the issue is fixed, every platforms concern especially platform like mixing is the uptime it results to losing revenues and clients, every platform where there are transactions involved should have 100% uptime from clearnet to their Tor version.

Was just following the thread from the very beginning and saw this... Is it possible that your ISP could have had some restrictions on certain websites because majority of us access CoinTor without any problems.
And as far as I know, mixers never put geolocation restrictions and nothing of this nature is mentioned on the website either!

Just for good measure, have you tried accessing the website from another device probably a friend's or something just to rule out any network tweak's that could be blocking you like a DNS block

We have some restrictions that comes with location and it doesn't matter what service that could not stop regional internet restrictions, most of the time, some countries have DNS ban on certain word's, so unless of you have to access such site via VPN and nothing more.

Although he already get the issues sorted out and that is good to know that he was able to find his way, this is the reason why we always advice use of Tor Browser to access mixers.

Both of you are right but coming from different angle of things, the realities is changing and mixers are heading towards centralization more than it was meant to be a decentralized and privacy enhancing services, there is no other thing to suspect other than mixer trying to protect their business from getting climb down by government and for that they may decide to implement more due diligence check and data collection from their users.

What I meant is that the site can decide not to keep logs even with IP restrictions as the thread is going towards something like it may not be like that. But I know I am right and users can use Tor for it. But examplens later explained how this could be leading to users to get verified. But as to where we are about the mixer, I still see nothing wrong. If it is getting towards the wrong direction, we are going to post about it. What that matters to me in a way I can mislead the mixer's users has not been done by the mixer as long as they do not keep logs. On the mixer, they do not keep logs. And others pertaining to transaction are deleted in 24 hours.

What I thought some people will post about is if 24 hours is not too long for the logs deletion as letter of guarantee is enough if there is any issue even immediately after the mixing completion.

6 months is reasonable, yes, but the average lifespan of a mixer is just 2 years. By the time you include a mixer, there is a non-zero chance their demise is already being planned either by themselves, or by the FBI.

I take just 2-3 months to add mixers onto BitMixList.

I gave a frame period, which does not mean that it has to pass 6 months. And here we saw a few mixers that did not last long enough to keep a business longer than a couple of months.

btw. Mixtum was launched in 2018, Coinimize in 2019, and a serious mixer service can last much longer than 2 years.

Unfortunately, at least in my opinion, mixers will always be considered by governments (or some individuals) either as a threat or as a tool used by criminals (similar to Bitcoin in its early days). I don't see a paradigm shift any time soon.

In fact, as time goes on, privacy is increasingly threatened and the only way to get it back is to resort to alternative methods (not directly approved by the media or governments). Like Bitcoin, it's a direct threat to any government, but even if some governments like EUA and El Salvador approve or accumulate Bitcoin now, it's because they want to be the first ones and other governments will feel outdated if they don't do something about it.

Users defend a service only because they are in their paid campaign. They find all sorts of well-founded or unfounded justifications to protect their weekly earnings. Therefore, such a discussion is no longer relevant.

A website can know their users IP without actually recording it. Or is this wrong?

Mixer is a service that protects privacy, and its purpose is to increase the anonymity of users and their funds must not have any geo restrictions. What's next, will mixers also introduce KYC checks?

I hope they will come with an explanation about some people that are unable to access the user through their IP.

You are correct, but if a government should include bitcoin as her strategy reserve or approve bitcoin as a legal tender, they should be lenient on bitcoin related matters than other countries yet to adopt bitcoin. I understand that the war is not against bitcoin but those using bitcoin in a bad way. Since there's no way to differentiate between an average journey who is using mixer for privacy and a criminal using bitcoin to scam or buy arms, it will remain a big problem to the industry.

I am very optimistic to that privacy will win at last. Developers are waking up to decentralization, so there's hope.

I certainly waited for an answer from the core team for the naming of "TOR" because this I am sure the name is very inspiring and I think it looks good in my personal reasoning.
If only there was a correlation of TOR browser and CoinTor, then it was definitely extraordinary because a browser that was famous for Privasiny Tor made a Bitcoin mixer project and certainly all communities from Cryptocurrency and Tor Browser would continue to support.

Btw , if it is true that this correlation is real between the TOR browser and the CoinTor will you be surprised?

With time I believe there will likely be more insight as regarding this familiarity with the name, but in my personal assumption, both cointor and  tor browser are probably two different entities, and their both perform different functions, and even their domian is vassily different from each other.

Familiarity with that name is the reason why they choose to use that word to name their casino since its undeniable that if we saw that TOR word people would automatically that they are offering a service that can protect the identity of their clients.

The more they made their name became more catchy and somehow familiar the more they can easily catch the attention of people to use their site.

So hopefully he already get a good insights towards the opinion given since there are good answers already provided by our fellow forum users here.
