You are correct, but if a government should include bitcoin as her strategy reserve or approve bitcoin as a legal tender, they should be lenient on bitcoin related matters than other countries yet to adopt bitcoin. I understand that the war is not against bitcoin but those using bitcoin in a bad way. Since there's no way to differentiate between an average journey who is using mixer for privacy and a criminal using bitcoin to scam or buy arms, it will remain a big problem to the industry.

I am very optimistic to that privacy will win at last. Developers are waking up to decentralization, so there's hope.

that's an important point for sure. You better have a plan in place once you want to sell some of your Bitcoin that have been mixed. Depending on the amount, they can demand all kinds of proofs. Mixers don't make it any easier to provide proofs, but they preserve your privacy. It is about pro and con on a case by case basis.

The answer from @examplens is very reasonable and takes more than 6 months the mixer project is operating because it may also be included in the reputation of a mixer project.

Dealing with the FBI is very scary and it is definitely a problem in legal violation. I do not know exactly what the problem is that every Bitcoin Mixer platform has to deal with the FBI but I am sure that CoinTor will be able to escape the clutches of the FBI as long as CoinTor does not do anything that is against the law.

I take just 2-3 months to add mixers onto BitMixList.

If you look at the 6 months mentioned by @examplens, I think your writing is considered fast because it only takes about 2 months, in other words, you are very fast in changing the addition of the Bitcoin Mixer platform list.

This hits hard but it is very correct. Why is it always like this? The matter of FBI to me is secondary, it seems the project owners already plan out how long they want to exist. Some makes alot of money that they don't care to continue anymore, and they will willing exit scam while others are taken down by FBI. This time around, it seems FBI won't be hunting mixers again, we long to see mixers lasting long in this industry. Maybe as long as chipmixer did.

I believe that even if the government relaxes its crackdown on mixers, they will always remain a target, as demonstrated in the Bybit hack case, where hackers moved the stolen funds to eXch. (which is not a mixer), which itself became an immediate target.

If you are referring to the return of mixers to BTT, I had already given up on it, but with the recent post by theymos talking about relaxing the ban on mixers, starting with removing the word filter and citing phases of the unbanning process... I saw that there is a possibility (albeit small) that they will return to BTT.

That said, any progress will ultimately depend on the current government adopting a more flexible approach toward crypto overall and reducing its aggressive pursuit of mixers.

I also basically have the idea that Cointor.org is an independent company and has nothing to do with the Tor Browser company.
As far as I know, Tor Browser also has automatic funding that has donation funds in the form of Bitcoin, Doge, Ethereum, Litecoin, Monero, Stellar and Zcash wallets.
For me this is not a problem but I am interested in discussing Cointor.org and Tor Browser because the names are the same and both are also very familiar with cryptocurrency especially in Bitcoin.

The actual question is: Will they allow mixers to breathe free? Or will they allow mixers, but then ask them to comply with the KYC and AML regulations and ask their customers to create accounts, complete KYC verification, and then do their mixing so that they could know everything about every transaction coming in and going out of those platforms. I know, it wouldn't make sense because mixers are used to maintain privacy, but we know that the governments don't like too much privacy because they want to know everything.

One might argue that they would never do this, but let me tell you that they are always hunting down decentralized platforms because they allow people to trade cryptocurrencies without asking for their identities because they don't like it when platforms or services don't comply with their rules and regulations. You make a valid point, and I agree to the fact that the war is also against Bitcoin. Bitcoin allow us to have full control over our money without any central control on how we use, spend, and send our money within our local country or to our relatives and friends in the diaspora. The way it kicked out a lot of local apps that were used to send and receive money internationally came as of surprise. Each country has one way or another in which Bitcoin has taken the minds of citizens from the traditional system, thus leaving them to not control how citizens use their money. And they are not happy about it.

If not for the fact that the government themselves are also benefiting from the technology, they would have really found a way to shut it down. And yeah, since they are beneficial, they will only try to find a way to limit the way it is being used to affect the normal citizen.

Trump is a businessman and he sees crypto as an extremely profitable opportunity for personal reasons. It's no wonder that he used bitcoin as a platform to get reelected and it worked.
It would be great if during his government there was no persecution of mixers, this would already help mixers stay around longer.
