Of course Bitcoin has stayed on the number one position since its inception and appears to have no tight competitor on the market. With Ethereum which shows a direct competition with Bitcoin, it has to achieve another same market volume before it catches up with Bitcoin, thus, Bitcoin's market cap is twice more than that of Ethereum.

There are many promising coins backed up by a technological basis, which can be quite popular, useful and expensive, but I believe that they can not all be compared to Bitcoin just as it is impossible to compare Gold with other less valuable metals. For now it is impossible for any Altcoins to challenge Bitcoin for a market competition because even Bitcoin is affected by bearish trend but it still manage to become always the number 1 ranked in the Crypto market. Ethereum has the big possibility before but after the bearish trend, the number 1 altcoin is also threaten to be replaced by the Ripple. So for now there is no one from Altcoins can really give a good fight against Bitcoin.

For me,i don't believe that Bitcoin will have a tight competitor because we can compare the other altcoin will never been so closed in terms of market price value.With this,Bitcoin is still the number one crypto coin now.
