The internet is a decentralized global network, it is not own by any single entity, a lot of individuals and governments contribute to the development and maintenance of the internets. As a result, the Internet can be considered as a shared global resources, effectively belonging to everyone.

After God comes the government, so since the Internet is man-made, it did not just magically appear out of nowhere, it makes sense to say that it is owned  and can be controlled by the government.

At first I thought you are newbie or a newly teleported user but from your profile you are a pioneer user here. And probably you were here when the admin said we should not create one line thread because it is a shit post and after that discussion, many of us who follow that rules didn't do that again and also not to make comments on those thread but we make comments because of the quality comments people have made.

This is one the good thread but you need to add more flesh to the content even though you don't want to reveal the identity of the person or group or group of people invented internet, you can make some comments to enlarge the thread to be quality one. And I don't know a particular person who own internet. And I have not heard any before as well but I will make a research to see if I can see any.

Think back in the day say 1980 no one company owned all the phones lines in the world they made deals with each other and 1980 phones kind of worked everywhere.

I think it makes more sense to look at it as a decentralized global network just as someone mentioned above, if you say it’s owned and controlled by the government, it’ll give rise to lots of questions, like which government owns and controls it? I think the reason it looks like the government controls it is because they use their resources and governmental power and influence to access the internet’s data whenever they wish, which of course any other person can do if they possess the same resources, influence and power.
