Bounty Managers accountable for Scam projects ?
« on: July 18, 2018, 01:04:23 PM »
There are some discontent rising lately blaming bounty managers for Scam projects.

here's my opinion, feel free to share your below.

Bounty managers are NOT responsible for project scams, because they can not predict the future!
An all A team could be fake, even with the best due diligence.
A failed ICO can result in a run with the money, especially if there is no escrow.
Scam is being thrown too lightly, 90% of startups fail that does not mean they are scams, the same can be said about ICOs.

Bounty Manager = someone paid to manage the bounty > verify submissions , verify tasks , etc ...
Bounty Promoter = someone paid to promote the bounty > through site / social media etc ...

Both are doing the job they are paid to do, and often they get paid mostly in tokens like you guys, thus they get useless tokens as well.

We do have an ICO review section : https://www.altcoinstalks.com/index.php?board=225.0
Thus make sure to check it before committing to any specific project, and do share your rating of the ICOs

And please, if you notice a scam project, and have some proof, do post a scam accusation on our scam section:

I totally agree with what you say. Firstly bounty manager is just like a bounty hunter but just doing their bounty hunting in a different way. If they choose to filter every ICO that is available to them they are not able to earn any money. Secondly they are not god or something that can purge the ICO that approach them or see whether is this a legit ICO or a scam. Lastly if bounty hunters can choose to do or not to do this particular ICO, bounty managers do their job by posting bounty and bounty hunters do research to filter out scams. This is my view anyway i am also a bounty hunter though but i just give a fair view from both side of the picture,

i guess eventually the karma will start to come into play, as bad projects lead to bad karma for the bounty manager

I totally agree with you, even if skilled and well trusted bounty managers in most of cases recognises most of SCAM project so in my experience  it's safer to join bounties managed by them

I do understand that and as a bounty hunters I didn't expect the manager have to responsible for that scam project.  My experience at my first bounty (not on this forum) I did my job and they gone like nothing happen.  When I ask the manager what happen, the answer is like this:  "Release your signature, I don't manage that bounty anymore, for more information you can contact them."  That's it.  As a human being I need to blame someone, right?  So who else I should blame if not the person who manage the job.  I didn't expect him/her to pay anything.  I just need to curse that manager in my heart, you know I mean?  :D

I agree that bounty manager is not deserve to be blame for the ICO he/she supported and at the middle or at the end discovered as scam. But it is the responsibility of bounty manager to protect the bounty hunters, if this bounty manager always is always involve in a scam ICO, I believe he/she deserve to be blame. Amazix team in bitcointalk is always managing a good ICO and always successful. Meaning there are ways to avoid scam projects.

I agree with you.

The Bounty Manager is just the third person just like the Bounty participant.
The Bounty Manager also cannot predict whether the ICO will be successful or not. Because ICO fails not to meet Softcap SCAM can also be said or failed.

Bounty managers are not responsible for scam projects because they are employed by the team members to manage bounties and they get paid at the end of the project. The scam projects are created by team members.

in part, the manager must also be responsible, because he must be the manager in this way to investigate this job, but he cannot be responsible for technical problems.

Yes, I agree. Cannot predict whether the bounty program is successful or scam. Verification is needed in every bounty in this forum to make this forum better than other forums.

For me, the key points are:

1. The bounty manager is also a victim of scam project. Unless, If there is an indication of intentional.
2. I am sure the bounty manager has analyzed and observed the ICO project. But the scammers are smarter recently.
3. The teams of a scam project sometimes leave suddenly. I have experienced some cases like this. They leaved us when the project reached softcap or almost ended. This cannot be predicted by a bounty manager.
4. A bounty manager has a limitation in obtaining the project information since he is only a third party.

if gift managers are skilled and well-trusted in most cases recognize most SCAM projects so that in my experience, it is safer to join the gifts managed by them. So forum participants already have information before entering the forum.

And please, if you notice a scam project, and have some proof, do post a scam accusation on our scam section:
https://www.altcoinstalks.com/index.php?board=84.0

And i leave you with a quote from coin market cap:
Quote
Nearly every cryptocurrency has been called a scam at some point in its lifetime. We're not here to judge the merits of any cryptocurrency

We cant really blame the bounty manager for whats happen to the project if the project is determined to be a scam. Really? The bounty manager also is not from the team itself, so exclude the bounty manager.
