Winner of this year, ETH or BTC?

Recently, I was thinkig. Is there really any reason for the BTC to be the market leader? The only thing that is giving the value to BTC is pretty much the fact, that it was the first crypto currency. It is the grandfather of all cryptos. But we know it has its flaws... It was never designed for broad usage, it has scaling issues and so on.

On the other hand, we were given ETH. The Crypto Kitties or w/e the awesome internet meme ETH appliction is called showed us, that ETH network has issues with high amounts of usage. BUT, 90% of all altcoins are based on the ERC-20 standard, brought to us by ETH. The smart contracts using the Solidity are extremly good piece of technolgy.

So my question is. Do you think, that BTC will keep its leadership, or will ETH be the winner of this year and surpass its ancestor?

BTC is going to win every year for the next 5 years at a minimum.  No other coins even come close to dethroning BTC.   That doesn't really mean anything is going to happen with ETH though, it'll be just fine and grow for the next few years as well.

I think bitcoin is still the best. But ethereum is doing better in this year. Ethereum is more potential.

I think we will hold the ethereum, because for us it is also the best way we hold in the long run, because the development of ethereum also improves better every day.

I think ethereum is doing better in market now. It is very potential.

for me ethereum will remain as superior over all altcoins while bitcoin will stay on its leadership as the one that can provide success and failure to all altcoins.

In my opinion, Bitcoin is still the best, the bitcoin value will affect all altcoins.

Although Ethereum is on the rise now, and Ethereum is a very favorite alloy, I think in 2018 Bitcoin is still the winner, and Ethereum has not been able to surpass Bitcoin yet. Bitcoin is the undefeated king of Cripto.

I can not comment, I just hope the eth price will go up even beyond the bitcoin, a lot of money I bought on eth result from my hard work, hopefully my waiting pays off with the rising eth price.

Yes no altcoins can dethrone bitcoin unless bitcoin permitted to let any altcoins lead cryptocurrency. Bitcoin is always the all time high, the winner among the winners.

Both coin are really winner in our heart, I believe that many of us really believe on eth and also with bitcoin because this two coin is now the most popular coin in the crypto feild. Both coin is a good investment and if we are going to invest on it maybe we gain a huge amount of profit.

I think ethereum is doing well on market in this year. It is better than bitcoin but bitcoin is still the best.

I agree with you, ethereum is doing well, but for me, the market price always depends on bitcoin if the bitcoin price will go to bulls, other coins is same.

In terms of surpassing bitcoin, I think it couldn't be. Let us not forget if ethereum will go forward and bitcoin will go backward. Still the distance of price is far from each other. Although the chance to let the price fly above the wings is not impossible. Crypto price is interchangeable but bitcoin will remain as the most valuable.

I don't think that ethereum will match bitcoin for me ethereum is the best altcoin for now and for the future for its long-term investment
