Recently, I was thinkig. Is there really any reason for the BTC to be the market leader? The only thing that is giving the value to BTC is pretty much the fact, that it was the first crypto currency. It is the grandfather of all cryptos. But we know it has its flaws... It was never designed for broad usage, it has scaling issues and so on.

On the other hand, we were given ETH. The Crypto Kitties or w/e the awesome internet meme ETH appliction is called showed us, that ETH network has issues with high amounts of usage. BUT, 90% of all altcoins are based on the ERC-20 standard, brought to us by ETH. The smart contracts using the Solidity are extremly good piece of technolgy.

So my question is. Do you think, that BTC will keep its leadership, or will ETH be the winner of this year and surpass its ancestor?

I think, By seeing the ethereum is doing well on market in this year I think the winner is ETH of this year.

Bitcoin is still the best, But ethereum is more popular now, many tokens used it.

I have not found the winner. But if you look at ethereum's technology the winner is this year. Ethereum has produced many new altcoins that are successful in the crypto market.

Why already give a verdict when 2018 is still not yet done? Anyways answering your question for the past months I give it to Bitcoin. Ethereum continuously drops in price while Bitcoins seems to show some stability.

This year ethereum will better grow up then bit coin. Because it has best technology, faster, and platforms for new coin. But price can't easily past bit coin, it need much time to do it

I think Bitcoin will still be the winner in this year than Ethereum because Bitcoin is the most profitable and has the highest market price value in the crypto world now.

Although Ethereum is showing rapidly useful than bitcoin but still we can also find uncomfortable in ethereum. Because of the platform of ethereum alot of scam ICOs are being made, because of being simple and anyone are free to be part on this so sscammers love to use ethereum platform.

Bitcoin is still the leading crypto coin but etherium is also promising. Both are good to invest.

I like ETH more than BTC. But unfortunately, The leader is still BTC at least over 5 years. ETH is going to develop improvement after major update which is called serenity but  ETH is still young blockchain than BTC.
