Even if they aren't scamming a lot of these ICO's don't know how the crypto markets work.. I'm currently invested in one that I believe is a dynamite project but they refuse to pay for exchange listings.. I've seen others where they spend half their investment on exchange listings and its just listed vaporware... I've seen others that have great ideas but the use case of the token doesn't really make sense.. The reality is even if it isn't a scam, it likely won't work out well.. the project has to be unique in idea, marketing, and use case for token... and a lot of projects just don't have all three.

Yes ico get a bad image in the eyes of investors in this year. Many ico scams and do not fit the token price after being listed on the exchange make many investors who suffered losses due to ico project.

I think there are a lot of scam projects. About 50% of ICOs are mostly scam ICOs

Yes, That is the number reason why a lot is afraid in ICO because of scammers, but not at all is a scam there is legit ICO also.

Yes, prices of ICO's do fall after an exchange. This is why a lot of investors are now afraid to join. But there are still a lot of good ICO's out there. You can ask those who are good at ICO's to choose for you. you can join telegram groups whereby only legit ICO's are being posted there.
