Why is Crypto a big thing for quality assurance?

Hi! Smiley I'd like to refer to IOTA having been in the news lately.

I've never been in a QA part of a company and cannot judge what way of communication they have, what they sign, and what structure this is. But according to a Fujitsu employee IOTA resembles QA processes the best. At least this is what I took from a news text about the endorsement.

So, how does QA (at Fujitsu) look like, and is it with IOTA a permissioned or a non-permissioned system? How does it work in detail?
