Yes of course, you can do whatever you want with your coins. But it is more preferable to hold it for now because the price is still cheaper. For me, HODLing coins for more than a year is not advisable because it may only turn into a big loss if there's no more value.

Your altcoin will remain in your wallet until blockchain exists. Unless your wallet gets compromised somehow. But the value will obviously be decided by the market need. It is a know fact that around 90% ICOs fail in their first or second year, so holding some tokens that are not established yet might be risky.
