As a payment system bitcoin now works very badly. Basically, everyone buys bitcoin in order to keep it and make a profit from raising its price. I do not see it change in the near future. This may end up bitcoin very badly: it can drop very low in price.

I agree with you, even now bitcoin can be used for donation such as The French office of the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) has started accepting donations in 9 of the most popular cryptocurrencies, including bitcoin cash (BCH) and bitcoin core (BTC). The announcement comes after earlier this year the UN agency launched several other crypto-related initiatives.

what you say is true. bitcoin is currently better known as investments because not many countries already give permission to make the bitcoin as payment. so it is a little indirectly inhibit the function of the bitcoin payments.
