Which Type of ICO Bounty Campaign is the Most Profitable and Why?
« on: September 05, 2018, 03:15:06 AM »
When assessing the profitability of bounty campaigns, I am measuring them solely based on the ratio = (time invested) / (payout).

The situation around bounty campaigns changes really fast, though. Bounty managers change the rules with time, ICO teams started changing the allocation for bounty, regulations are making things more difficult, more bounty hunters are joining in, etc.

For a long time between July 2017 and Q1 2018, the most lucrative campaign was undoubtedly the signature campaign. With just 15 one-line comments a week, you could easily earn 200–1000$ depending on your forum rank. At the time of writing (July 2018), these campaigns are already flooded with bounty hunters and the payout dropped significantly. Even a Sr. Member will have a hard time earning more than 100$ a week.

The overcrowding happened in every single bounty campaign — signatures, facebook, twitter, youtube, telegram. Except one — translations!

This is the only campaign where the spots are limited and no more entrants can join. This is because there is a limited number of languages and each language can be reserved only by one bounty hunter. So, back in July 2017, a Whitepaper was translated in 20 languages. In June 2018, it is still 20 languages and it will be so at any point in time in the future.

Following that logic, any bounty campaign that limits the number of entrants in some way, will have the same positive result for the payouts to the individual bounty hunter.

RESTRICTIONS AND LIMITATIONS FOR PARTICIPATION IN A BOUNTY CAMPAIGN = HIGHER PAYOUTS

The limitations can be done in two ways:

1)Quantative — when a max number of participants is set and no one is allowed to join after that.

Example: Max 1000 entrants in a facebook campaign

2)Qualitative — when the requirements are raised up by the bounty managers.

Example: Minimum 500 followers to participate in an article/blogging campaign.

Bounty hunting was really easy in 2017. And in December 2017, when the market was at the absolute peak, no matter what you were doing, it was paid more than generously.

Now, with overcrowded bounty campaigns, we have to search for limited participation campaigns and we have to strive to amp up our quality, follower base and value we can bring for the ICO. There is no other way.

What I see is that the rules of each bounty program are too easy, for example, the minimum number of friends / followers is 500 and there is no age rule from social media accounts. If every bm provides stronger regulations, I think it will make the bounty participants more qualified.

You are right, the most lucrative campaign is signature campaign. Moreover, If your rank is Senior, Hero, or Legendary. But in 2018, all bounty categories get smaller income. It is influenced by bear market and bad crypto issues.

It is hard to predict which ones will be the most profitable.
You are not even sure if it will meet the softcap which is usually the basis whether you get paid or not.
The number of tokens is hardly a measure, you can have thousand of tokens but with little value.

Nowadays there are a lot of Bounty Projects that are indeed easy to enter as members of the Bounty campaign. The rules for each gift program are too easy, for example, the minimum number of friends / followers is 500 and there are no age rules from social media accounts, this is what the hero member said. Hopefully this will be a reference for all.
