Why do old people like investing in gold and silver rather than crypto?

so many people don't know about cryptocurrency and the benefits. therefore, they prefer to invest in gold or silver. that's good because they won't get the big losses. but I think to get the profit will take a long time  and the profits that will receive also smaller than the investment in cryptocurrency

I think every time for investment ideas and concepts are not the same, the elderly are more keen to invest in gold, silver, precious metals, like young people will be more like encryption currency or stock. This may be the age gap.
