I think merit system at btt is not gonna help in getting quality post but it may drastically reduce participants interest, and this may result in members pulling out from btt.
They should better adjust this merit rules or face some adverse consequences.

It turned out that the problem in applying the merit system to junior members at the Bitcointalk forum was not only discussed in the forum. I agree, When the bitcointalk implemented the merit system the only people who's happy about it are those high ranks so they will have more earnings and they can make a dummy to send there their merits. Unlike here and some other forum we can rank up without that merit.

That is not really true.  How can you say all of jr.member is a shitposter?  You know, most members don't even read other comments, how do you expect to receive any merit with that situation?  They see one topic, they comment and leave.  People post a topic then leave, no communication, no feedback.  If they are honest, most of high ranker is shitposter  too.  People post only for signature campaign's task.  So to be fair every rank should be demoted, not only jr.member.  You can buy merit if you want.  I've seen a lot of strange merit reward, a merit abuse.  I've seen someone received 50 merits from one account and lot more from other accounts only for posting an ANN related.  Quality post my a**.

Yes, that's right, now the bitcointalk forum is in hot talk because of the decline in the position of the Jr. member to become a newbie again. Of course this will have a negative impact on the forum. for example, people will move more to find other forums. so I think this will be the beginning of the Bitcointalk forum downturn.

I think that this move will bring many people to discover this forum so it's not bad... however I really don't understand the way the creators of bitcointal forum think, in this way they will loose a lot of users!

It is their rule and if they think that will help in improving their forum, let's just respect that. Anyway, that decision could somehow help increase altcoinstalks user base.

the system used on the merit I think is nice but wrong.
They hit all the Jr. member being a newbie.
I prefer buying copper member rather than seeking merit because it is very difficult to find merit on bitcointalk.

Everyday at bitcointalk forum, seems to get harder and harder to deal with it. It looks as though that their admin think of and  implements new rules every single day. Rules that does not benefit the members i suppose like their merit system. I am most certain that if you don't have any "connections" at all, you do not have any chance in getting a merit, no matter how good your postings were, ever. And now, another annoying and totally irritating rule. What is happening to that forum?

Instead, it is good for our forum, the newbie there may quit and move to our forum. Then, we can have more new members.
