In crypto, coins are cryptocurrency with its own blockchain and tokens are cryptocurrency built on several other blockchain coins. Litecoin has its own blockchain, so this is a coin. Bela depends on the Ethereum blockchain, so that's a token. Every time Ethereum blocks are mined, Ethereum transactions are broadcast side by side with Bela transactions and thousands of other tokens that are also on the Ethereum network. ERC20 is like an adjective - it describes what Bela tokens are. All ERC20 tokens are Ethereum tokens, but not all Ethereum tokens are ERC20. ERC20 is the most popular now, but I would predict that some other forms of tokens will rise over the next few years. Another cool Ethereum Token is the ERC721 token. The ERC721 Token cannot be divided into smaller parts. When you have one ERC721, you cannot send 0.5 of the ERC721 tokens to others. It's monumental to put things like home deeds on the blockchain - only one person can have tokens for certain actions, and that can't be shared and sent to multiple owners. There are many more types, including tokens that don't exist on Ethereum.
