As far as I can remember but correct me if Im wrong, Ripple is quite centralized kind of currency yet many financial institutions used it while tron is somewhat a copy of ethereum. If I were to choose, both is a good project however I prefer Tron because of Justin Sun the Marketing lord.

Ripple and tron are different project. Both are good. But i think ripple is better than tron. Because ripple will start soon a new banking system. Also it is a trusted coin and in coinmarketcap it's position number two.
