As we know that crypto start with bitcoin and bitcoin does not have the smart contract function that is able to let the ICO generate their own coins. As time goes by Ethereum comes along ethereum offer better technology and better features and most importantly it has this smart contract function to let ICOs generate their tokens. So from this Ethereum is more highly sought after either by the ICOs or people see the value in it.

Ethereum is the second best cryptocurrency after Bitcoin. Majority of the ICOs in the space were launched on the Ethereum Network and ETH is the currency needed to these ICOs. On whether the ICOs are fake or real, this is hugely dependent on the individual projects and this has nothing to do with Ethereum.

Etherium is one of the SPECIAL coin here in crypto right now. Think of it. If Etherium will going to die all of the coin under it will really going to die too. It's like their mother bitcoin, Etherium is the foundation of some tokens and coins.
