Indeed ethereum is potential altcoin so it will survive in all cryptomarket situation still ethereum maintaining second largest market capitalization but if ethereum based ERC20 projects survive definitely ethereum must return to tha higher price level.

Ethereum is still surviving the dull cryptomarket but ethereum must recover again because still ethereum price is too low before one year ethereum was the best competitor of Bitcoin but ethereum situation is too bad now thus many investors and eth based projects are affected.

If it has second place also it won't go up for the price. In the past it went above $1000, but now it is not possible at all. I am sure in 2020 it is very hard to reach $1000 for Ethereum, but it may reach $500.
Let see the prediction in next year that is after 5 days.

Ethereum has been fighting for a long time this is not good for ethereum investors ethereum already crossed $1000 but it's price is declined too badly if continue this situation $1000 is too difficult even next year.

No reference work in last year and still market is 165$usd. So no doubt that ETH will survive market but we can not confirm that what price will hit this year. As market going to expand we can hope for better price in year 2020, nothing else.
