I don't think there is the safest as the most reliable altcoin. because Crypto is volatile and unpredictable. and in my opinion Ethereum is the safest one I can say. But I would not say that this is the safest. because you will never know what will happen in crypto.

  fo my opinion i alway stand side in bitcoin even though down falls of price the difficult situation of market bitcoin easily recover so i conclude bitcoin is the safest no other coins replace bitcoin

With the current situation we don't have many choice.But I think Dogecoin is the exception now.This altcoin is starting to be taken seriously and has become a favourite of many people.So I think Dogecoin is one of the most potential altcoin in the long run.

Mostly all of the coins are unpredictable but in the current hotch potch market I see ripple is doing good and stands strong in bad market apart from this I find Aeron is also doing good in the recent months it recovers alot and there are some other good coins you can consider to buy those are: Stellar, Binance, Bitshare, Ethereum, Dash, EOS & Stellar.

I think OP means a potential coin to invest. The safest and reliable coins are commonly on top coins. We can choose one of the top coins for our investment. But I think it is not USDT, it is like you store money on US Dollar. There is no change, it tends to be always the same.
