Money or Respect ?

This topics is a very interesting one,but to me,there is nothing better than having money,whether you get respect or not,as long as the money is involved,people will still want to hear from you because money is that particular factor that commands respect.I haven't seen anybody who is so rich and financially bouyant and is not respected,with money,one can get any result he or she wants.
I think if one has money in this life,he can buy respect, because it is affordable,the moment people find out that you have money,they will always respect you.

I prefer to get respect because the money given can be obtained from other people, while those who give respect will sometimes also give a small part of what they have to appreciate what you have done.

Why would really be needing to have a choice if you could really actually be able have both? Respect isnt something that you could really gain because this is a behavior/values of a person.
Its not something that can be bought or something that could be easily gained. So i dont think that there would really be needing up some choices in regarding about this matter
on which you could actually have that respect at the same time you could be having the money. Money is that necessity on which we do know that this is something that you would really be needing on day to day living or something that you wont really be able to survive if you have none.

OP, the title should have been 'Money or Good name'. Maybe we would have more opinions on this. However, I will prefer money. This is because with money you can gain respect, since respect can be gotten from people by the way we treat them. If I have the money and use to do good, and help people in need with humility, I will gain their respect. Respect will not train your kids to school if you are broke.

The both are very important in the society today and in ones life. I would also want us to know that respect is earned as a result of ones inbuilt personality through training and possibly upbringing and height attained in the society.

I am not against the fact that money is not good but something more extra ordinary than that should be what we ought to long for.  Money as we all know can be gotten through any means but it does not equate the name you have already made for yourself.
Respect I believe can page way for you to get money because that respect you earned in the course of engagements in your walk of life can earn you contacts, connections, and other things that can give you access to money. Do not forget that respect reciprocates in whatever way t is earned.

I will always choose respect in everything I do and for every opportunity to choose between the two, you can always earn money, and money just comes and goes but if people lose respect for you they will not believe in whatever you say and they will look down on you.
And besides respect is handed in every generation, if people have respect to you you are always welcome to be in their company.

Money, cause we are living in a society that bases respect from someone's worth. Sad to say but its the reality. People my find you respectable cause of your worth and what can they benefit from you. But in some sense and situation, respect is more valued rather than money. But in general, its money that defines worth and respect.

Each person has different characteristics and will never be the same, that's why some people become very rich, some are still poor and there are also people who fall into the simple class. That's how God created humans who will never have the same fate and will all struggle in their own way to achieve their goals.

For me, I will choose respect because with respect I can be appreciated as a person and my self-worth is credited with respect I can gain connections with people which can help me to get more opportunities because they know who am I. But it depends on the person on what he/she will choose and it depends on the goals that we want to have but if we create a balance between the two choices I think we can feel a sense of fulfillment.

I will agree with your opinion here. You see respect they say is reciprocal, as an individual, when you  do the right thing in the society, you will attract respect to yourself and people will honor you. Respect brings honor and dignity. When you are upright and disciplined, abide by the law and also make sure things are done accordingly in the society, people take note of it and accordingly respect you for that and by so doing, you have earned yourself a place as a pace setter in the society.

Respect acquired through money is just like a politician who is in power. When the tenure of the politician elapses, they leave the office and the respect they have also leave them but if they did well in office their good works would speak for them and respect accordingly but if otherwise, it reciprocates. Same is applicable to respect acquired through money. When the money finishes, the respect also goes. If you use the money wisely, many would accord you respect as a wise man but if you do not, nobody would look or come  your way

Same here, if I get the change of choosing one of those then I'll choose respect instead of money. Getting respect is much harder than getting money, I personally know some people who are quite wealthy but no one respects them and on the other hand I know some other people who aren't wealthy by today's standards but people give them a lot of respect.

That's why I will always choose respect over money because money can be earned even if spent many times but respect is one time's play if we earn it then we'll have to keep it safe and once it's lost then we can't get it again. +1

Respect is actually something worth it. If you earn respect, people would rever you so much that your presence alone would speak and command orderliness because they know what you stand for. I have come to realise that most times in communities and towns, whenever there is anything that has to do with decision making, the respected elders are the ones first sorth after before the others because they are believed to be the ones that  have set the pace in those various communities and that what ever decision they take is always in the best interest of the community and the people. This is the extent to which respect can place an individual.
