I think it's always a good idea to have Bitcoin, even if it's only 30%. Personally, I like to hold around 50% in a bear market.
Though now I'd only buy the dip on BTC, until the bear market is over that is before trading these off into alts to lower the btc dominance in portfolio.

Investing in altcoins isn't a bad idea because some altcoins are worth investing and have the potential of growing into great coins in the future but bitcoin is also good. Ignoring bitcoin is not a very good idea for me personally though I agree the prices are low. I do still believe in bitcoin.

It all depends on the the reason for owning these coins. If you want to make qi=uick moneys then i think alt coins are simply the way but bitcoin might be the main deal if you are thinking long term

Each cryptocurrency has its own period of formation and development, the period of prosperity and price stabilization, and some, and the period of extinction. In my opinion, Bitcoin is already approaching the level of stabilization of its price. In addition, even if the price of it will grow substantially, it will be quite risky to invest in it because of the possibility of panic.
I now prefer ethereum, which is devoid of these shortcomings.

I've been ignoring bitcoin for a while now, I had bad experience with fees, and in the beginning lost a chunk because I was sending with high fees accidentally.  I put the rest, about $30 into dogecoins, and it rose to over $200 and I sold it.  After that I fell in love with alts.  I've been so spoiled with alts, if I have to wait longer than five minutes for confirmation, I'm a little edgy, I'm glad locked up bitcoin transactions are a thing of the past for me now, since I don't send bitcoin anymore.  Do you choose alts over bitcoin purely out of fees/long transacton times?

I think It depends what you want. If you want short term or trading, I think You can choose altcoins like ripple. It is more potential.

I also chose altcoins, because these coins can be traded daily or short-term. I usually do that to wait for the price of bitcoin to rise. Because if I focus on the down period, I will panic and sell my bitcoin. And I think that will be dangerous.

No I personally still believe in bitcoin for long term investment. I also used ripple for short term or day trading.

Because currently the price of Bitcoin is more expensive than altcoin for investment. Better to buy altcoin that costs as an investment state investment. With the same capital can buy more altcoin and potentially profit larger with the number of coins. Like. To buy a storlar or cardano that is cheaper and potential.

Well, I believe this is the best option you can get for now. I say this because my situation is not different either.

Altcoins have more room to growth rather than Bitcoin. So, you'll probably have more x's if and only if you invested into coins which has a future or coins which might be pumped.
