Ripple or Ethereum Better?

I have $1k to invest, I have a choice between Ripple and Ethereum seeing them almost competing with each other on coinmarketcap, which one is better or which have greater future.

$1k is a lot of money and if you would invest, I would rather prefer you choose Ethereum especially now that the market is down although the whole market that is down. Then also do some research before investing because I might also be wrong as I don't give financial advise to anyone.

ripple and ethereum are the same coins that have the potential to be big why you don't divide your investment in both coins

I choose ethereum than ripple cause they have  the smart contract feature and a lot of coin still want to using their platform and ripple is not fully blockchain and only focus for the banking sector.

but if I personally prefer xrp, because it's faster than eth.

I think your question is not about which one is better. Eth may be better than Ripple as technology, practicality stuff like that. But you're looking to invest so you decide by their future. I think both of them can jump 2-3x easy but Ripple is more movement.

If you have two choices between ethereum and ripple and the capital you have is $ 1k, I think you are better to share it, ethereum 60% and ripple 40%.

I never invested in Ripple and I think I never will. They are not promising me anything when the subject is about blockchain or decentralization of the world in other words. With Ethereum, you can buy more coins, invest into ICO's and more. So, I would choose ETH if I were you.

Both alts have their own technology and different possibilities, it’s hard to say which alt is better, everyone chooses what is best for him based on different conclusions, so you can invest in both alts.

Ripple is the coin preferred by Banks and financial institutions while Ethereum is the standard blockchain used by more than 90% of ICO.
They are both good but if I have to choose only 1 I will go on Eth if you are planning to hold your coin for some years.

I can suggest you to buy ethereum. I believe ethereum too much. Also they have some pos update in the future and they have some updates about mining awards etc.
So eth will be really valuable in near future.

For the fast profit I'll go to ripple trading instead of Eth but if you're planning to invest and wait for a long run Etherium is the best choice for me.

I suggest that you divide your money into 3 investment forms on different coins, you can use 50% to buy ethereum, 25% for Ripple and 25% for other altcoins, this is a good situation, considering the price of coins in the market always goes down, so you must have the confidence to invest in this difficult period.
