Is Facebook against Bitcoin?
« on: October 23, 2018, 04:59:12 PM »
Facebook and other social media platforms might also have had faced huge losses due to inflation and sudden strikes in the price of Bitcoin and other cryptos. That can also be the reason for them to not accept and allow Bitcoin and others for paid advertisements.
Facebook is not against Bitcoin but rather intends to avoid the situation of misleading its community members through its paid advertisement. Users of Facebook can post crypto and Bitcoin related topics on Facebook without any penalty.

Facebook stopped advertising post about cryptocurrency some months age. Now i heard from a recent news that Mark Jukarbarg is willing to permit advertising about cryptocurrency again.

Is there any other data that you can provide to support this claim?
As far as I know, Facebook is not against bitcoin. It is only against advertising ICOs in its platform due to complaints by their users. If it is against Bitcoin, all crypto-related facebook groups and pages should have been banned and deleted by now.

As far as I remember, Facebook made a ban on advertising ICO and cryptocurrency for the reason that there were too many fraudulent projects, but after they decided to release their cryptocurrency, they became more loyal to ICO advertising.  But they were never against bitcon!

I think facebook ban Cryptocurrency advertisement because some project was reported as scam/fraud, they also have restriction about spamming post like other social media like twitter that may lead to your accounts deactivation

In my opinion, maybe Facebook wants to protect its community from ICO guise fraud. because, as we have seen, since the ICO explosion, many ICO frauds have sprung up.

Facebook is not against Bitcoin but it is against those who are using cryptocurrency to target and scam its users. I have seen a lot of pozi schemes already giving out wrong information about bitcoin. I think that is a fair stand for Facebook to go against them.

Facebook will not be against Bitcoin because Facebook seems to think that crypto is at least legal. I think Facebook need payment every advertiser. But they do not want to encounter scam, so they are trying to protect for users.

I agree if Facebook prohibits Bitcoin from becoming an advertisement on social media. Not that Facebook is fighting Bitcoin, but there are strong reasons behind it all. That is, Facebook suffered a huge loss due to inflation and a sudden strike in the price of Bitcoin and other cryptos. That is the basis for Facebook to ban Bitcoin advertising on social media.

I don't know what makes you say that, but other than ads, I see no reason for them to be against to any cryptocurrency. Furthermore, I think they can support them to make a better feature for themselves. Well, blockchain is good for them too.

I think they are not against only in bitcoin but all crypto currency before they are blocking ads about crypto currency, but now they lift it

from some of the articles I read, Facebook actually limits cryptocurrency adverts on facebbok, where before Facebook sorting like now there are a lot of scams that harm their users and get lots of reports from Facebook users and that is the reason why Facebook limits cryptocurrency advertising. I think, not because Facebook does not accept btc payments and suffers losses. it's only from a few sources that I read CMIIW

What about BitCoin? What he can give them profit? Unless in the opposite direction. But who said that with a deflationary model, the economy will function normally?

Facebook has a huge community and they want to protect their users. They are not against bitcoin, they just want to protect their users from scams.

I could see Facebook launching their own token if they're still relevant in the future.
