Can "thank / punish" be abused?
For example, someone gives punish just because they hate the member, not because of the member's fault

Yes karma can be abused, and has been in the past, hence since 2018 there is a Karma Abuser membership group for those who are caught and end up with their karma issuance revoked. This first happened to a group of plagiarists in 2019 (who were targeting a d team member), as well as more recently in the Bangladeshi section.

In fact the 1st reason listed for opening a case in the Forum Court is:

If you suspect someone is giving you negative karma repetitively

I think Positive Karma is for those who are doing great work. And it is for appreciation for their work.
And negative Karma for those who are not following the forum rules. Make spam posts. Due to these illegal things those peoples have got negative Karma.

Seriously I really love this write up now I believe the rules are clear must people will just post anyhow just to rank up but seriously this forum is not just about posting anyhow to rank up you should be able to write about what will benefit the forum and what will benefit the people using the forum.

Yes, I totally agree with you, in addition to pursuing a rank increase, you also have to think about how the posts you make can be useful for this forum.

There are a lot of good posts that someone could plagiarize. We should refrain from that. Good post is relevant to the topic discussion. As long as it is relevant and unique for me it is good. Everyone should enjoy ranking up while building chemistry.

Karma that appears incomprehensibly for what makes you think, but these thoughts may not be correct. The user should know for what he received karma. It will be even better if he knows from whom he received.

I think members with multi accounts who add to their own karma ought to be banned. That is cheating, and it is wrong!

I like KARMA, but maybe if someone give positive or negative karma to someone else should write few words why. Because now it is just THE CLICK. Nothing else.

It will be good if we can click on user's KARMA and see reason for positive or negative karma, including username who rated this user.
Because I am afraid of misuse of this power.

Or maybe mods have to confirm in some way postive / negative karma. Or something like that.

The point is every user who behaves well. (obeying forum rules, contributing to the forum, being useful to fellow forum members, etc.) then Karma will come to the forum members.

The +karma/-karma links under each profile avatar are responsible for karma, to thank (+) as well as punish (-) users
Senior members and above have the ability to issue karma. Don't abuse it, otherwise you will have your issuance revoked

The rules are quite easy to understand. However, in a situation where a senior member or others give negative karma to a post that appears okay and satisfies others, is there a mechanism in place that allows other senior members to remove the karma?

to remove negative karma, you need to get positive karma.
