Karma - thank/punish

Just hit double figures on Karma, nice to know that other members have appreciated some of my posts. Aiming for the big 50 next, so it might take a while  I need to be more proactive in dishing out Karma to other members too, I tend to comment instead.

I have a slightly different thought. Since you posted this thread about "Karma - thank /punish", I see not all members actively participate in giving "thank /punish". I guess some members only focus to increase the number of comments, and don't really care about the quality of the threads. How do you think about this?     

I advise to use this karma buttons if you are able to.

Especially, positive karma for quality and helpful content, useful content, good behavior, something which is valuable for you. Negative karma I use only in extreme cases and punished only a few times so far mostly because I am a moderator and Judge on the forum.

If you can then do it award members for special actions this will encourage them and others to be even more creative and active on the forum.

Yeah, for now, I have understood well how to use it. I learn from many discussion about karma and see the the answer from Admin and moderators like you. It is really helpful, and I noted every important information related to karma. So, then I hope I will help with my best to improve our forum especially in applying karma. I have read all answers and one thing is obvious to me. Karma is a great tool and the only issue is with abuse of negative karma which could be used as a weapon against somebody. Despite that Admin has a log and we have a court abuse can and will happen especially when there will be more members.

That is why I will propose if this is technically possible to leave only one button for every member only with positive karma (this could not be abused) and negative karma should be only visible for high-rank members (legendary), moderators, and trusted members with very high karma or chosen by admin.

If there will be any sort of abuse then we have court and everybody has right to start a case.

To give negative karma should be right and duty of admins, moderators and trusted members. So, in the future, no one can abuse the system. But admin says,

You received positive karma from an unknown member for posting something useful. Congratulations by the way.
You don't know who, therefore you don't know why, therefore you can continue to try and post useful content regardless 
This saves member attempting to repeating "karma receiving posts" in order to gain karma, or karma begging to certain members who regularly grant karma, this would be annoying. This forum isn't about earning karma, it's about being part of a community and helping each other out. Giving and receiving karma is just a part of that.
