Nothing can be the same as telegram except of smth that were developed by Durov.
Concerning signal...it is another messenger, but which provides itself as "safest one". From my own experience this one is good enough, but it's interface doesn't match to my tastes.

Telegram read all your messages. I know it coz impossible to write someone your verification code because Telegram will not allow you to do this, so technically Telegram read all your messages, unless you in secret chat. So what did you think about it. Pretty sad for mine opinion.

Encrypting requires a lot of resources, as I know. Imagine, that app servers will always run at 100% just for encryption of ALL messages. Is it reasonable? Separate options for secret/not chat is much more convenient, cuz non-encrypted chat would be optimized in better way, and if you deed privacy - just switch the secret chat

Expert Nathaniel Suchy said that the desktop version of the Telegram messenger does not encrypt user correspondence. He announced this on his Twitter page. According to the expert, all the data of the correspondence is stored in a regular database, which can easily be hacked. Suchy investigated the desktop version of the client for Telegram and concluded that the correspondence is stored in an unencrypted SQLite database. He stressed that encryption is not enabled even if the secret chat is activated.

What do you think about it ? Telegram was my favorite messenger. this is really terrible news for me. What messenger to use now? I will feel uneasy if I continue to use telegrams.

TG is not secure it's true.
Telegram's security failures and have been exposed through multiple cryptanalytic reviews...Telegram is plagued by a persistent  campaign perpetrated by the likes of Moxie Marlinspike and Thomas Ptacek in order to elevate Signal's status.
You all should be aware of that.
