Yes, i do believe that we need blockchain technology because its very helpful to our economy and community. considering it as just as a technology meant for financial world or crypto currencies is wide off the mark. Researchers are exploring new ways to use it in healthcare, energy production, supply chain management and many more industries.

I think that blockchain can really improve many services offered expecially by financial insitutions  and where privacy and trust matter. It's actually one of safest  and most transparent method to make transactions and I think that in next 2 years we will finally see many concrete applications everyday.
