Cardano’s EmurgoHK Launches Public Sale for ADA-Based Crypto Exchange IronX

The public sale for IronX – a cryptocurrency exchange that will utilize ADA as its base currency – went live on November 1. The sale will run through December 15 and end before the launch of the exchange next month. The initial coin offering (ICO) has a hard cap of $50,000,000, and has raised $22,343,888 at press time.

The pre-sale for the exchange ran from June 20 to August 30 earlier this year, and raised $22,338,290, having sold 67,691,787 of IronX’s native IRX tokens at the price of $0.33 per token. During the public sale, IRX tokens are priced at $0.44, and can be purchased using BTC, ETH or Wire, with a $100 minimum order.

First announced in June this year, IronX is a collaboration between EmurgoHK (a Hong Kong-based blockchain tech and projects accelerator, part of the Cardano blockchain team) and IronFX (a highly regulated global foreign exchange trading provider). It looks to provide the best of both worlds from traditional foreign exchange trading (courtesy of IronFX) and cryptocurrency trading (courtesy of EmurgoHK), with a full range of both crypto and fiat wallet funding options, and the aim of “facilitating traders of both types to move their positions between the various asset classes”.

IronX’s IRX is an ERC-20 utility token, which will incentivize token holders and owners with discounts on trading fees and access to services within the IronFX Group ecosystem. However, Cardano’s ADA will also be used for standard trading pairs.

IronX also claims to be fully regulated – the exchange has already obtained an operating license in Estonia from the Estonian Financial Intelligence Unit, and is also considering similar licenses in crypto-friendly Malta and Gibraltar. According to the official website, it has also been audited by Hosho.
