Sparta Ranking

Firstly, I'm grateful for being accepted as a Jr Spartan. However, I noticed that going from Sr Member to Jr Spartans I just lost 3 rank points!
I realise the rank becomes based on your spartan rank when you join, rather than ALTS rank, but can this not be changed somehow?
I'm presuming that not many people become a Jr Spartan before Jr Member anyway, but maybe I'm wrong.
I feel like a noob again!
