The question is controversial, as its value can be compared with the precious metal, with gold, silver and even diamond, but so far Bitcoin has a price on the crypto market. All fiat money is tied to gold and bitcoin is not, and therefore its value is not fixed by anything, and it is not affected by the price of oil, gold, etc. In the future, probably, if states start recognizing Bitcoin as the official currency, Bitcoin will be controlled and may be tied to gold.

Bitcoin cannot be compared with digital gold primarily because of its high price volatility. If we are talking about gold, we primarily mean the relative price stability. How to explain to those who bought Bitcoin at the end of 2017 for about $ 19,000, where did their digital gold go?

Yes, it is like gold in real life. Bitcoin is the gold and altcoins like silvers. We know very well if Bitcoin is like the main coin in crypto system. It controls the prices of other coins, when the price of Bitcoin moves, the prices of altcoins following it. Because of this value, people assume it like the gold.

Most experts in crypto attribute Bitcoin as a digital gold. Of course, Bitcoin and real gold share some common features such as the ability of these assets to be influenced by the principle of supply and demand. Bitcoin and gold increase in value whenever their demand on the market increase.

That's right, bitcoin is like digital gold waiting for other traders. Gold can also affect the prices of other items such as silver.

Yes bitcoin is digital gold.
In recent years, comparisons of gold and cryptocurrencies, particularly Bitcoin, has been a growing trend.

Currently Bitcoin has a much higher value than gold, and being totally decentralized and digital, it is very valuable for that feature ... but I do not think this means that Bitcoin will replace gold, since gold , will always have very, very faithful investors. :)

Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak said that “only Bitcoin is pure digital gold” , reaffirming his belief in the cryptocurrency despite having sold most of his holdings. Speaking to CNBC at the ongoing Money20/20 conference in Amsterdam, the veteran developer said he “bought into” comments from Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey about Bitcoin becoming the “single currency” of both the internet and the world. Dorsey spoke at two events in March and May, where he predicted that Bitcoin would become the international currency of choice by 2028.

In my perception,  Its a yes for me because we have probably  noticed when bitcoin decline its market the whole market turns into red. Which means bitcoin is considered as the underlying  asset in the whole crypto- currencies.

I do not think Bitcoin is digital gold, and I think it was originally conceived only as a means of making payments, in order to bypass the banks, and not compete with gold!

My own point of view is because of the price of bitcoin is as high to that of gold., except that, i don't see anythings relating them. Gold is a natural material and bitcoin is an invention of man, meant for online transactions, which cannot be touched as a digital currency it is.

I still believe that bitcoin is a digital gold because bitcoin just a simple digital symbol but value more than gold. So bitcoin consider to be digital gold.

Despite the fact that there are several dozens of good Altcoins, I still think that Bitcoin will always remain number one, and no other can outperform it with capitalization. Nevertheless, his very small number of coins in circulation, only 21 million coins, is the first cryptocurrency that has appeared, with a lot of funds, banks and just rich people who own it, they will not let it fall below.
