Sapphire Technology, one of the largest suppliers of graphics cards based on AMD in the world, officially announced that it is part of the cryptocurrency business.

New player on the field

In mining-the farm from Sapphire called INCA CS-14 Block-Chain Compute System, built-14 graphics processors 470 and RX it comes with a preinstalled operating system Linux and the software for mining cryptocurrencies.

It is expected that the farm will reach the hash power in 410 MH/s +- 5%, and power consumption will be approximately 1'950 watts. The company claims that it" has more than 15 years of experience in the production of the latest graphics cards " and has used its experience in the development of a new farm.

The system appears to be designed with professional miners in mind as it uses a number of technologies to optimize data centers. The farm is also compatible with standard racks manufactured by most vendors, the air flow of the farm is optimized to connect multiple units, all cables are released in one direction, allowing you to manage power and control the operation of a single farm in a large design.

Mining is growing?

Sapphire's decision to enter the mining business is an unexpected manifestation of confidence in the future growth of the sector. A significant part of the recent news about mining were, at least negatively, as prices in a bear market made this operation unprofitable.

For example, earlier this month, it was revealed that weak demand from GPU buyers was one of the leading factors contributing to lower sales of major graphics card manufacturers such as Asus and Gigabyte, which are struggling with unsold stocks.

Adrian Thompson, Vice President of marketing, Sapphire Technology, commented on the event:

The blockchain market is a very interesting place, and this growing industry continues to grow, representing a significant opportunity for Sapphire.

"Sapphire graphics cards are known in the industry for pushing the boundaries of performance, innovation and engineering quality, and we are committed to using this experience to create industry - leading systems designed for commercial mining," Thompson concluded.
