Japan Regulators Denies Considering Approving a Bitcoin ETF
« on: January 14, 2019, 12:55:05 PM »
Japan’s Financial Services Agency (FSA) has denied that it is considering allowing Bitcoin (BTC) exchange-traded funds (ETFs).

Last week, several sources including Bloomberg reported that Japan is exploring the possibility of approving Bitcoin ETFs as an alternative to Bitcoin futures.

The FSA has now denied its interest in ETFs, for the time being, suggests the news reported at Bloomberg may have been fed by someone with an interest in reviving interest in crypto trading in Japan.

A spokesperson for the agency clarified on Friday:

There is no such fact that we are considering approving ETFs which track crypto-assets at present … we are not currently considering approving them.

I read this news.  In Japan, they don’t really focus on Bitcoin ETF alone, they look comprehensively and consider many options for accepting Bitcoin, so I think they will come up with something equally interesting!

it looks like the ETF can't have a good impact on the price of bitcoin.

Japan is indeed quite widely considering the issue of cryptocurrencies, and not just an ETF, and this should positively affect the entire crypto world. Perhaps Japan will be the first to accept Bitcoin ETF, after which the financial regulators of other countries will follow its example and begin to accept Bitcoin ETF.

News like this will only invite question marks that give 50:50 news results.
In other countries ETFs are very much needed and in fact they are not needed yet, there are certainly several factors that must be considered.

I think and hope that Bitcoin can be allowed, and if Bitcoin is allowed, I am sure the market will improve greatly and prices will experience a good increase.
